What is E-learning?
e-Learning, or electronic learning, is the delivery of learning and training through
digital resources. Although eLearning is based on formalized learning, it is provided
through electronic devices such as computers, tablets and even cellular phones that
are connected to the internet. This enables us to learn anywhere at any time.
E-Learning is training, learning, or education delivered online through a computer or
any other digital device. E-learning pioneer Bernard Luskin explains “E” as Exciting,
Energetic Enthusiastic, emotional, extended, and educational.
Technology has advanced so much that the geographical gap is bridged. With the
use of tools that make you feel as if you are inside the classroom. In our rapid
changing world, we find it difficult to overcome the learning challenges and the
possible achievements.
To bridge this gap, the concepts such as e-learning, e-teaching, e-teachers has
become the part of effective education.
• E-TEACHING- It is automation of an existing teacher-centered educational
approach.
• E-TEACHERS- Teachers who work in an internet environment in both regular
and virtual classroom situations.

• e-Learning is a comprehensive term, which implies computer-enhanced
learning.
• It is purely restricted to online learning, undertaken by way of the internet or
web-enabled technology.
• It has a wider implication than computer-based learning or computer-aided
instruction.
• It is not a synonym of audio-visual learning, multimedia learning, distance
learning as these is just complementary.
• It has to be clear that the word ‘e-learning’ is confined to the form of learning
undertaken, facilitated and supported via Web-based instructions and Internet-
based communication.
Approaches of E-learning
1. Classroom- The classroom size is unlimited, and we can attend our class
anytime and anywhere.
2. Content- Before, we opted to use libraries for some books to become our
references, so for now we have the multimedia and the digital library. So, one
of the examples is the CVSU library wherein we can access the different
journals online.
3. Personalization-Learning path and pace determined by learner.
E-learning Tools
eLearning software is a digital tool that a individual uses to create learning content
and experiences online.
1. Google Classroom
• Teachers can create an online classroom with ease and invite students.
• They can easily interact by posting questions and get solutions from
fellow students and teachers.
• Teachers can share lesson materials and stimulating queries for review
at home.
• Students who missed the live learning hours can still be provided with
catch up notes or additional instructions to easily follow the lesson.
2. Kahoot
• Teachers can effortlessly create a trivia quiz or learning game on any
topic for language of the choice.
• Students can be enabled to master diverse lesson concepts through
fun tasks and games.
• Learners will tend to stay attentive, and the sessions will be more
interactive.
3. Zoom Education
• Options like digital whiteboarding and one-click content sharing
promotes student participation in virtual learning.
• Secure video communication solutions are offered for hybrid
classrooms
