51. A suspension bridge is a type of bridge in which the deck is hung below suspension cables on vertical
suspenders. The suspension cables are in parabolic shape. The point on the suspension cable just above the
mid-point of the deck is the lowest point of the suspension cable and the suspension cable is symmetric about
a vertical line, parallel to the suspenders, through the lowest point.
A parabola is the curve representing p(x) = ax2 + bx + c. Parabolas are symmetric about a vertical line known as the
