DAVINCI RESOLVE TUTORIAL
(PART 1 – BASIC)
Comrades, if your timecode appears as a negative value:

We will learn about the software by doing a


MONTAGE VIDEO EDIT.

3. IMPORTANT ASPECT OF A MONTAGE VIDEO

The most important aspect of a Montage edit is its Audio.
Clips and Cuts are determined based upon the audio chosen.
Our primary editing steps include CUT followed by COLOR followed by
AUDIO, but sometimes AUDIO might come first followed by CUT and Color,
that sometime is while Editing a MONTAGE VIDEO.
Choose your audio properly, always listen to the audio atleast 15-20 times
before working on it.
Also, the MONTAGE EDIT should always have a story, atleast a simple story
should be used.

b) KEYBOARD CUSTOMIZATION
The below given Keyboard Customizations are not the default ones,
but the ones that has to be set manually in order to make the editing
process faster

(HOW TO SET YOUR SHORTCUTS MANUALLY:


Go to TOP LEFT CORNER of the Davinci Resolve software, there you
will find ‘DaVinci Resolve’, click that and click ‘Key Board
Customization’)
NUMBER ABOVE THE LETTERS IN YOUR KEYBOARD AND NOT THE
ONE IN NUMPAD
• CUT – 1
• START TO PLAYHEAD – 2
• END TO PLAYHEAD – 3
• RIPPLE DELETE – 4

You can either change the keys as per your preference, or use our
keyboard customization (file is given in the description, import it to
your software)
