4. Current Organisational Strategic Evaluation (500–700 words)

Although companies may not explicitly state their competitive strategy, it can be identified through
a careful observation/examination of their product offerings, pricing structures, operational
processes, marketing approaches, innovation practices, and target markets. Using Porter’s Generic
Strategies framework, this analysis should determine whether the company primarily follows a
cost leadership, differentiation, focus, or a hybrid strategy. The discussion must clearly justify why
the identified strategy (or strategies) is being used by linking strategic choices to internal
capabilities and external market conditions. Where applicable, evidence such as company reports,
industry analyses, or credible secondary sources should be used to support the evaluation and
demonstrate strategic alignment between the firm’s activities and its competitive positioning.

5. Challenges in Implementing the Strategy (500–700 words)

This section should include key challenges faced by the selected organization when implementing
the identified Porter’s generic strategy or strategies. The discussion in this section should also draw
on secondary research, including academic literature and industry reports.
