Irina are you referring to the COMport number? I am

Guest From MCP2210 utility it shows device count as 9

and target 1, which means i have selected device
1. Previously for device 1 , device serial number
was ten digit number and now that number got
chaged and as found in device 4. The device serial
number got schuffeled. I need to change it to my
previous device number.

Guest This happend after system restore.

07/16/2026 02:13 PM GMT

Irina in the MCP2210 Utility. I quickly installed it even

though I do not have a device connected. I see the

Irina I see, unfortunately I do not see here an option to

write a new ID. I think this should be an option
however I will need more time to investigate on
how to do it. Can I ask you to open a support case
?

Irina [Link]

Irina myself or one of my colleagues will look into it

and answer to you there

07/16/2026 02:23 PM GMT

Guest Requesting you to open a case with the query.

07/16/2026 02:24 PM GMT

Guest I'm saying this because you know the issue and
you creating will be faster.
07/16/2026 02:26 PM GMT

Irina I think you did a great job explaining it to me. I

think the most valuable is the screenshot which I
recommend to attach to the case. and the query
should be simple, how to change the device ID...

07/16/2026 02:27 PM GMT

Irina Should not be complicated at all

Irina you can choose any case reason if the target

device is correct

Guest ok i will open the case and attached the screen

shot.
