CHAPTER V

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

A. Conclusion

This research was done to find out the effect of using fanfiction as reading

material on students’ reading comprehension at Senior High School 9 Pekanbaru.

So, the researcher can conclude this research as follows:

1. The students’ reading comprehension taught without using fanfiction as

reading material on students’ reading comprehension at Senior High School 9

Pekanbaru was categorized into “Good” level.

2. The students’ reading comprehension taught by using fanfiction as reading

material on students’ reading comprehension at Senior High School 9

Pekanbaru was categorized into “Very Good” level.

3. There is a significant difference of using fanfiction as reading materialin

reading comprehension of eleventh grade students at Senior High School 9

Pekanbaru.

Based on the result of the research, it was clear that the use of fanfiction

has important role in improving students’ reading comprehension.

B. Suggestion

Considering the effect of using fanfiction as reading material on students’

reading comprehension, the researcher would like to give some suggestion

especially to the teacher and students as follows:

1. Suggestion for Teachers

a. It is recommended to teacher to use fanfiction in teaching and learning

process, especially in reading subject of narrative text.

b. The teacher should be creative to improve the students’reading

comprehension especially in narrative text by using variation of fanfiction or

another material.

2. Suggestion for Students

a. The students should pay more attention to the lesson explained by the teacher.

b. The students should be creative to select the kinds of reading materials in

order to comprehend more texts and in order to diminish boredom in learning

English especially in reading narrative text.

3. Suggestion for Next Researcher

a. Next researcher should give contribution in conducting the research

especially about reading subject of narrative text or another kind of texts by

using fanfiction or another material.

b. This research is one of the ways in improving students’ reading

to conduct another research. There are many other material can be used to

make teaching and learning process more effective and interesting.
