Discussion Framework
We request a brief meeting to explore these five themes. Your insights will directly shape our R&D strategy.

What are the main targets for your department (quality, production, cost, customer issues, etc.)? Which area
1 is facing the biggest challenge today, and which problems keep repeating despite corrective actions? If solved,
what would improve the most?

Why are these problems difficult to solve permanently? Is it due to process limitations, equipment behaviour,
2 raw material variation, lack of data, or multiple factors interacting together? Have any solutions already been
tried, and what limited long-term success?

Where could better testing, analysis, prediction, technology, or technical support improve performance or
3 decision-making? Are there any capabilities or expertise currently taken from outside that should ideally be
developed in-house?

Looking ahead 3–5 years, what future challenges or changes will become important for the plant
(sustainability, regulations, customer expectations, new technologies, energy efficiency, etc.)? Which future
4 challenge is the plant least prepared for, and which major problem, if solved permanently, would create the
biggest impact?

Are there any major equipment or process failures that repeatedly affect production, quality, safety, or
5 downtime? How often do they occur, and what impact do they create?
