The most common question words and their uses


include:
1. Who (quién) Refers to a person ("Who is your
teacher?").

2. What (¿qué?): Asks for specific information or


about things ("What is your name?").

3. When (¿cuándo?): Asks about time or an


occasion ("When does the class start?").

4. Where (¿dónde): Asks about a location or place


("Where do you live?").

5. Why (¿por qué?): Asks for a reason or


explanation; often answered with "because"
("Why are you late?").

6. Which (¿cuál?): Asks to make a choice between


specific options ("Which do you prefer, coffee or
tea?").
7. Whose (¿De quién?): Asks about ownership or
possession ("Whose book is this?").

8. How (¿cómo?): Asks about the way, method, or


condition of something ("How do you make
pasta?").

"How" can also be combined with other words


to ask more detailed questions:
9. How many (¿cuántos?): Quantity for countable
nouns ("How many eggs do you need?").

10. How much (¿cuánto?): Quantity for


uncountable nouns or prices ("How much does
this cost?").

11. How long (¿Cuánto tiempo?): Duration of


time ("How long is the movie?").

12. How far (¿cuán lejos?): Distance ("How far


is the nearest store?").

13. How often (¿qué tan a menudo? / ¿con


que frecuencia?): Frequency ("How often do
you exercise?")
