Semester 3 Operating System (Part 5)
Mid-Sem Master Plan
The objective of this chapter is to ensure that mid-sem preparation begins from the first week rather
than a few days before the examination. By following a progressive revision cycle, the exam period
becomes revision-focused instead of syllabus-completion focused.
Preparation Timeline
Period Primary Goal
Weeks 1-2 Complete every lecture within 24 hours and maintain zero lecture debt.
Weeks 3-4 Finish tutorials and build formula sheets.
Weeks 5-6 Start mixed-topic revision and solve previous tutorial questions.
Week Before Mid-Sem Daily revision + timed practice + weak-topic recovery.
Exam Days Revision only. No new learning.
7-Day Countdown
Day -7 to -5: Complete remaining tutorials. Day -4: Revise formulas and derivations. Day -3: Solve
one mock paper. Day -2: Focus only on weak areas. Day -1: Light revision, organize materials,
sleep well.
Exam-Day Routine
Wake on time, avoid learning new topics, revise summaries, reach the exam hall early, attempt
easy questions first, manage time, and reserve the final 10 minutes for checking.
Subject Priorities
Numerical subjects (ODE, Fluid, Mechanics of Materials, Electrical): maximize problem-solving.
Engineering Materials: emphasize concepts, properties, and concise notes. CAD/Lab: revise
procedures and common viva questions.
Post-Exam Strategy
Do not spend the whole day analyzing the paper. Record mistakes briefly, then shift focus
immediately to the next subject.
