Chevening is looking for individuals with strong professional relationship-building skills, who will engage

with the Chevening community and influence and lead others in their chosen profession. Please explain
how you build and maintain relationships in a professional capacity, using clear examples of how you
currently do this, and outline how you hope to use these skills in the future. (Minimum word count: 100
words; maximum word count: 500 words)

Networking is to bring together diverse ideas and professionals. To this extent, I believe that we can implement
our ideas by building and maintaining good relationship with individuals from different backgrounds. This has
driven my personal and professional life into making successful networks. As a lecturer of Computer
Networking (Cisco technology) at a private institute in Kandahar, I had 20 hours to teach Networking subject in
a week. I requested the administration to build a computer lab for practical work and it was prepared in a week.
Through this lab, my intentions were to bring together lots of students to join computer science courses. My
Plan was to bring together all students to cooperate with each other. My discipline was acquiring them final
projects for the completion of course. To finalize and complete the final project work they were supposed to use
computer lab for practical work. The computer lab was the best choice for them to work on groups and
complete the project cooperatively. During the project work, everyone was supposed to contribute and to earn
scores and this brought together all those students who never participated during the class lecture. It was an
unforgettable memory of good networking and relationship.

In addition, as a test coordinator for AUAF university in Kandahar, I was able to meet new students and
employees. After exchanging our ideas and thoughts, I was able to encourage students to join AUAF. Students
were interested to participate with me in other events in the future.

Also, as a hotel manager at Royal Afghan Hotel, lead me to make peaceful work environment among all staffs
and waiters. Because before my managerial rule there was a lot of unfaithfulness and doubtfulness among all
staffs. My prior plan has been organizing weekly meetings with staffs, to explain them their duties and hear
them complains. Because this way I was able to bring a peaceful relationship between all staffs, like waiters,
cleaners, guards and managerial staffs. While my work priority was to make them one body and take the hotel
management to a very advanced shape. My next step toward making the management strong, I prepared
trainings for each category of staffs. During a week I took myself responsible to prepare a short season to teach
them about hospitality services and rules. This way, I become a successful person while respecting each other. It
was a great achievement of my life that lead me to win a certificate of appreciation for being a best manager.

To conclude, all these mentioned achievements and life experiences are not enough for my professional life. For
this reason, through the Chevening Scholarship program if granted, I will meet and discuss with other IT
fellows from different parts of the world. And I will discuss about innovative changes for developing my
country and enhancing the education system. Along with Chevening Scholarship program, I believe I will make
strong international relationship.
