Video Project (Individual)
Objective
This oral assignment is designed to help you reflect on your learning from this course
over the entire semester. You will create an individual video to describe your
expectation at the beginning of this course and your learning outcome at the end.
Looking back will help you look forward and plan your next moves.
Time limits: 1.5-2 minutes
Instructions
1. Make reflections
Reflect on your school work (attendance, quizzes, group discussions, presentations,
etc.) over this semester. Choose one area that you intend to focus on.
2. Organize your video presentation
o Introduction: Start by briefly introducing yourself and your topic.
o First part of the video – your expectation at the start of this course
▪ Describe the reason(s) for that expectation.
o Second Part of the Video – your learning outcome at the end of this course
▪ Describe the opportunities you have found and taken to meet your
expectation.
▪ Describe your learning outcomes in detail.
▪ Describe your plan to improve your weakness.
o Conclusion: Summarize your learning from this experience and express how
you can apply your learning to your other courses or future job(s).
3. Record your video
o Use a clear and audible voice.
o Reveal your face.
o Include relevant, clear and effective visuals to support your statements.
o Check the qualities of the sound and the visuals of the video after you
record it.
4. Name your video file as full name_topic (for example: Andy Ho_audience analysis)
5. Submit your video to iLearn by Monday, June 22.
o Late submissions will not be accepted unless pre-approved by Dr. Luo.
Grading criteria
• Content (50%): focused, well-organized, in-depth
• Visuals (20%): clear and effective supportive evidence (e.g., diagrams, notes,
reflections, worksheets)
• Accuracy (15%): correct grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation
• Fluency (15%): smooth delivery of ideas
