ONE MARK

SCENE 1: IN HIS ROOM

Alarm rings at 5:00 AM. Arjun (18) wakes up. His room is covered with NEET books.

Mother (placing tea softly): You're awake already?

Arjun (without looking up): I have to finish Biology before sunrise.

Father (wearing work clothes): One more month... then all this hard work will pay off.

Arjun smiles faintly.

He removes an old drawing of himself wearing a doctor's coat from the wall and replaces it with a revision
timetable.

SCENE 2: CLIPS OF HIS DAILY LIFE

Days repeat.

.Friends outside:"Arjun! Football?"

Arjun (through the window):"Next time."

Mother:"Today is your cousin's birthday."

Arjun:"Tell them I'll come after the exam."

Calendar pages flip. Mock tests. Sleepless nights.

Mother:"Come eat."Arjun:"Five minutes..."

The same reply repeats over different days.

SCENE 3: EXAM DAY

Students leave the exam hall.

Friend:"How was it?"

Arjun (finally smiling):"I think... I did well."

On the bus home two passengers speak.

Passenger 1:"They're saying there may have been a paper leak.

"Passenger 2:"If that's true, they'll investigate... maybe even conduct the exam again."

Arjun's smile slowly disappears.

SCENE 4: HOME

TV: Loud debates:”How did this happen, who is responsible?”

'Father mutes the TV.

Father:"Don't worry. Everything will be alright."

Arjun (after a long silence):"Appa... what if they ask us to start all over again?"
No one answers.

SCENE 5: ENDING

Arjun enters his room.

He notices the dried plant on his desk. He waters it.

He picks up the doctor's drawing and places it back on the wall.

He opens the NEET book again.

Mother stands at the door.

Mother (softly):"Are you okay?"

Arjun looks at her.

Arjun:"I don't know... but I can't stop now."

He begins studying.

FADE OUT TEXT ON SCREEN:

'When an exam is postponed, a student's life is postponed too.'

Pause.

'Behind every headline is a room where someone is studying again.'
