My Habits of Character and Behavior

RESPECT I treat everything and everyone with


love and respect.
I follow school and classroom rules.
I am respectful to my teacher and my classmates.
I keep my body in control.
I treat others how I want to be treated.
I listen when other people are talking, and share
the air.
I follow directions and rules in my specials classes.
I follow directions and rules in the cafeteria.
I follow directions and rules on the playground.
I am a good friend to others.
INTEGRITY I do the right things even when no
one is looking.
I try my hardest and do my best in everything I
go to do.
I do my own work.
I help others make good choices.
ATTITUDE I strive to have a positive attitude.
I have a good attitude towards my teacher and
classmates.
I express my thoughts and feelings appropriately.
I have a growth mindset, and believe I can do
anything with effort.

I have the children rate themselves each term. Beforehand we


talk about being honest, but not too harsh. I place a copy under
my doc. cam. and we go through each together. I give a couple
examples for each one so that they can rate themselves
accurately. Then they use a crayon to select about 2 from each
side that they want to work on improving, and they set their
goals. At the end, if I disagree, I use a pen to arrow into the box
I think they should have rated themselves and tell them why.
Sometimes it’s that they forgot a few misbehaviors, but more
often, they are too hard on themselves. My students use this at
their student led conferences and talk about their behavior with
