Summary of strengths:

I can maintain professional boundaries while effectively building therapeutic relationships. I have
developed my skills using various tools to complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation.

Opportunities for growth:

I need to develop my skills in pharmacotherapeutic treatment planning processes using evidence

based clinical practices. I need to develop my skills with creating medication plans and modifying as
necessary based on the patient’s response across the lifespan using evidence-based practice.

Now, write three to four (3–4) possible goals and objectives for this practicum experience. Ensure that
they follow the SMART Strategy, as described in the Learning Resources.

1. Goal: Conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation independently

a. Objective: Gain more confidence working with clients across the lifespan to recognize
psychiatric illness clinical signs and symptoms, by the end of week 4
b. Objective: Gain more confidence distinguishing conditions that are pathophysiological
versus psychopathological, by the end of week 6
c. Objective: Gain more confidence using assessment data to formulate a psychiatric illness
diagnosis that is based according to the DSM-5, by the end of week 6

2. Goal: Continue to improve my diagnostic reasoning skills

a. Objective: Continue to strengthen my skills to effectively develop and prioritize a
differential diagnoses list, by the end of week 4
b. Objective: Continue to strengthen my skills to develop diagnoses based on assessment
data according to the DSM-5, by the end of week 6
c. Objective: Differentiate physiological and psychological symptoms/changes based on
normal/abnormal age, by the end of week 6

3. Goal: Improve my pharmacotherapeutic skills

a. Objective: Develop medication plan by utilizing clinical based practice guidelines, by end of
week 4
b. Objective: Assess patient for therapeutic response to medication and modify as needed, by
the end of week 6

care, by the end of week 6
