Mathematics Integration Formulas

Comprehensive Reference Sheet (Calculus)

1. BASIC INTEGRATION RULES

Power Rule:

∫ xⁿ dx = (xⁿ⁺¹ / n+1) + C (n ≠ -1)

Constant Multiple:

∫ k f(x) dx = k ∫ f(x) dx
Sum / Difference:

∫ [f(x) ± g(x)] dx = ∫ f(x)dx ± ∫ g(x)dx

Reciprocal Rule:

∫ (1 / x) dx = ln|x| + C

2. EXPONENTIAL & LOGARITHMIC

∫ eˣ dx = eˣ + C

∫ aˣ dx = (aˣ / ln a) + C

∫ ln(x) dx = x ln(x) - x + C

∫ eᵃˣ dx = (1 / a) eᵃˣ + C

3. TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTIONS

∫ sin(x) dx = -cos(x) + C

∫ cos(x) dx = sin(x) + C

∫ sec²(x) dx = tan(x) + C

∫ cosec²(x) dx = -cot(x) + C

∫ sec(x)tan(x) dx = sec(x) + C

∫ cosec(x)cot(x) dx = -cosec(x) + C

∫ tan(x) dx = ln|sec(x)| + C

∫ cot(x) dx = ln|sin(x)| + C

∫ sec(x) dx = ln|sec(x) + tan(x)| + C

∫ cosec(x) dx = ln|cosec(x) - cot(x)| + C

4. INTEGRATION TECHNIQUES

Integration by Parts:

∫ u dv = u v - ∫ v du
Generalized Power Rule:

∫ [f(x)]ⁿ f'(x) dx = ([f(x)]ⁿ⁺¹ / n+1) + C

Derivative in Numerator:

∫ [f'(x) / f(x)] dx = ln|f(x)| + C

5. INVERSE TRIGONOMETRIC FORMS

∫ dx / √(a² - x²) = sin⁻¹(x / a) + C

∫ dx / (a² + x²) = (1 / a) tan⁻¹(x / a) + C

∫ dx / (x √(x² - a²)) = (1 / a) sec⁻¹|x / a| + C

6. SPECIAL ALGEBRAIC FORMS

∫ dx / (x² - a²) = (1 / 2a) ln|(x - a) / (x + a)| + C

∫ dx / (a² - x²) = (1 / 2a) ln|(a + x) / (a - x)| + C

∫ dx / √(x² ± a²) = ln|x + √(x² ± a²)| + C

∫ √(a² - x²) dx = (x/2)√(a² - x²) + (a²/2) sin⁻¹(x/a) + C
