Each Operations Specifications is an attachment to the Certificate and

addresses at least the following standard operational and maintenance
areas:
• The certificate number;
• The AOC’s name;
• The AOC’s business name (if any);
• Issuance date of the Operations Specifications;
• The aircraft make, model and series, or master series;
• The type of operation;
• Area(s) of authorized operation; and
• List of applicable special limitations and authorizations.

An applicant may be issued an AOC, OC or ROC if, after verification process, …. :

An application for a certificate may be denied if …

• The applicant is not properly or adequately equipped or is not able to conduct safe
operations under appropriate provisions of CASR
• The applicant previously held an AOC, OC or ROC which was revoked;
• The key management position who held the same or a similar position with a AOC
whose certificate was revoked, being revoked process, or causing the revocation

Recency of Operations for Air Operator Certificate

• AOC may not conduct a kind of operation if it has not conducted that kind of operation within
preceding :
– Domestic, flag or commuter operations - 30 (thirty) consecutive calendar days.
– Supplemental or charter operations - 90 (ninety) consecutive calendar days.

• If an AOC, intend to operate :

– It advises DGCA at least 5 (five) consecutive calendar days before resumption of that
kind of operation;
– DGCA decides to conduct a full inspection to determine whether thè certificate holder
remains properly and adequately equipped and able to conduct a safe operation.

his duties.

135.703 Maintenance Release or Aircraft Log Entry

No certificate holder may operate an aircraft after maintenance, preventive maintenance or

alterations are performed … unless …prepared:
1) A maintenance release; or
2) An appropriate entry in the aircraft log.

1) Be prepared in accordance with the procedures set forth in the manual.
2) Include a certification that:

Preliminary Assessment

• Preliminary assessment make a determination the applicant is qualified or not

qualified to apply for certification.
• If the DAAO have determined that the applicant is not qualified they should explain
to the applicant the reasons why they are not qualified and the steps they should
take to become qualified if they still want to apply.
• If the DAAO determine that the applicant is qualified to apply for certification and
the applicant wants to proceed with the certification process

Certification Team Assignment

• An AOC certification project and file must be created.
• A Certification Project Manager (CPM) must be assigned to the team
• Certification team consisting of operations, and airworthiness and necessary specializations

regulations or safe operating practices is detected, the document or manual shall be
returned to the applicant for corrective action with a detailed list of deficiencies

required by the regulations.

PHASE 4 – DEMONSTRATION AND INSPECTION

• CASR requires an applicant to demonstrate the ability to comply with regulations

and safe operating practices before beginning revenue operations
• These demonstrations will include actual performance of activities and/or operations
while being observed by DGCA certification team.
• This will also involve on-site evaluations of aircraft maintenance equipment and
support facilities
• DAAO evaluates the effectiveness of the policies, methods, procedures and
instructions as described in the manuals and other documents developed by the
applicant
