Responsibilities of the School Committee
• Plans and approves how the school will develop and grow
• Holds meetings with parents to update them on the school's progress — in studies, discipline, sports, and
buildings
• Approves how development money is spent and checks that it's used correctly
• Makes sure classrooms and other buildings are built and kept in good condition
• Serves for three years, but can continue for another term if parents agree in a meeting
Responsibilities of the Head Teacher
• The overall leader and boss of all school activities
• Makes sure the school curriculum is being taught properly
• Checks on the school's academic progress
• Makes sure pupils are safe and well cared for
• Keeps records of pupils
• Makes sure pupils, teachers, and staff follow discipline rules
• Makes sure school resources (money, materials) are used properly
• Builds good relationships with the community, council, village leaders, and religious groups
• Involves other staff when making decisions
• Reports to higher officials (like the District Education Officer)
• Is appointed by the District Education Officer (DEO)
Responsibilities of the Deputy Head Teacher
• Helps the head teacher run the school
• Organizes teachers' duties and schedules
• Supervises academic projects
• Looks after the school environment
• Handles income-generating activities
• Deals with health and sports matters
• Handles discipline issues
• Acts on behalf of the head teacher when needed
• Carries out the head teacher's instructions
Responsibilities of the Academic Teacher (Academic Master)
• Advises the head teacher on all academic matters
• Is the chairperson of the academic committee
• Keeps all syllabuses, books, schemes of work, and lesson plans
• Prepares the school timetable
• Makes sure all teachers follow the timetable
Responsibilities of the Discipline Teacher
• Makes sure pupils behave well and follow school rules
• Advises pupils and parents about behavior issues
• Handles matters about gifts given to pupils
• Works with the discipline committee, teachers, and prefects
• Warns pupils who misbehave
Responsibilities of the Class Teacher
• Takes attendance of pupils
• Responsible for discipline in their class
