1. Answer all the following questions –
CO – 1 a. Discuss in brief the importance of law to a business [3]
SO – 1 firm/enterprise.
BL -1,2 b. Comment of competency of parties under the Indian [3]
Contract Act. Who are incompetent in entering into a
valid contract?
c. Explain ‘unfair trade practice’ under Consumer Protection [2]
Act, 2019.
d. Explain 2 main functions of the Competition Commission [2]
of India.

CO – 2 2.a Law serves as the foundation for fair and ethical business [5]
SO – 2 practices, ensuring that businesses operate within a
BL -2,3 structured framework. Explain this statement with
reference to legal aspects of business.
b. X hires Y’s car for personal use. Instead, X starts using [5]
the car as a taxi. Can Y sue X under a contract of
bailment? Give reasons for your answer. What are the
duties of a bailee in such a scenario?

Explain with any 2 examples.
CO – 2 4.a. Mr. Rich aspired to get a self- portrait made by an artist. [5]
SO – 2 He went to the workshop of Mr. Kalakar an artist and
BL -3,4 asked whether he could sketch the former’s portrait on oil
painting canvass. Mr. Kalakar agreed to the offer and
asked for ₹ 50,000 as full advance payment for the above
creative work. Mr. Kalakar clarified that the painting shall
be completed in 10 sittings and-shall take 3 months. After
the 5th sitting, Mr. Rich was informed that Mr. Kalakar
has suffered paralysis and it would be impossible to paint
for the near future. Mr. Kalakar had a son, [Link], who
was still pursuing his studies and had not taken up his
father’s profession yet.
Discuss in the light of Indian Contract Act, 1872, whether
Mr. Rich can ask [Link] to complete the artistic work in
place of his father? Could Mr. Rich ask Mr. Sonu for
refund of money paid in advance to his father?
b. Under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, what constitutes a [5]
breach of contract, and what are the legal remedies
available to the aggrieved party in case of such a breach?

SO – 2 Resolution (ADR) over traditional court litigation? In
BL -2,3 what types of disputes is ADR more beneficial, and why?
Explain with relevant examples.
b. X and Y, co-founders of a startup, have a dispute over [5]
profit distribution. X prefers to go for arbitration,
believing that a neutral third party should make a binding
decision. Y, on the other hand, wants to resolve the issue
through mediation, hoping for a more flexible and
collaborative approach.
What are the different tools of Alternative Dispute
Resolution (ADR) used to resolve disputes outside the
courtroom? How does mediation differ from arbitration in
terms of process, decision-making, and enforceability?

drainage, which were not mentioned in the product
description. When he contacted customer support, they
refused to address his complaint or offer any remedy.
Based on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, identify
whether X’s rights can be redressed even if it is an online
sale? What are the guaranteed consumer rights under the
Act?
