2. SOFTWARE & ANALYSIS TYPES
Software:
ELEVATE 9.2

Analysis Type:
The purpose of this presentation is to show the level of results
achieved when carrying out elevators traffic simulation using ELEVATE
software, planning criteria in line with code compliance.
 Simulation (UP Peak) for Residential Building
 Simulation (DCS) for Office Building .

Project Topology:
 Office Building.
3. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Main key factors affect the demand that a building’s occupants may
make on a elevators system:

The QUANTITY of service factor; how many people may use the
elevators system over a defined period of time - is represented by
The Handling Capacity.

The QUALITY of service factor; how will the elevators system deals
with its passengers - is represented by Passenger Waiting
Time/Interval.
4. CURRENT DESIGN
Administrative Buildings (B12) and B(13.3)
Each building contains number of elevators as per attached schedule in clause (8)

5. CODE COMPLIANCE

Simplex Collective Traffic mode Up Peak

Code/Parameter Compliance
Handling Capacity (Arrival Rate %) ISO 8100-32
- Office Building : ≥ 12% Comply

Code/Parameter Compliance
Intervals ISO 8100-32
- Office Building : : ≤ 30 sec Comply
6. METHODOLOGY
For Offices:

a) The prime objective, when providing elevators in a

building, is to transport guests quickly and efficiently to their
floors. The quality of service should be high in terms of an
acceptably low interval or passenger waiting time. The
psychological effects of long waiting times on the user can be
significant. Long waiting times will result when large queues
build up during peak periods which reflect severely on the
building and can affect the marketability of the premises.

b)The Quality of Service criterion is represented by the

Interval time, for most Office buildings the required Interval
time is ≤ 30 sec.
7. ANALYSIS OUTCOME

The analysis were based on the number of users at each building as following :
