Intentions. Meaningful learning experiences are anchored in how we frame them. Start by deciding
what you want learners to master by the end of the lesson – keep it clear and simple.
Learning Competency and Content Standard: The learners demonstrate knowledge and
Curriculum Standards: understanding of regular and irregular polygons and their
features/properties; and determination of measures of angles and
number of sides of polygons.
Performance Standard: By the end of the quarter, the learners are able
to draw and describe the features/properties of regular and irregular
polygons.
Learning Competencies: Deduce the relationship between the exterior
angle and the adjacent interior angles of a polygon.
Learning Objectives:  Define interior and exterior angles.
 Distinguish between interior and exterior angles in diagrams.
 Show curiosity and willingness to explore geometric figures.
Learner Context: Most of the learners are still mastering basic operations, which affects their
understanding of more complex lessons. They need improvement in spelling
and writing, making it difficult for them to express their ideas clearly. However,
many show interest and willingness to learn, especially when guided and
engaged in interactive activities. Some barriers include limited foundational
skills and low confidence, but they can improve with continuous support and
practice.
Learning A learning experience is like a thoughtfully designed journey. Each activity and
interaction builds towards meaningful understanding and growth. Identify activities and
interactions to help learners gain knowledge, skills, or understanding in a purposeful
Experience. way.
Pre-Lesson: To prepare the learners for the lesson, a crossword
puzzle will be presented which is related to polygons
and angles. The activity will serve as a review of
previously learned concepts and introduce key terms
for the new lesson. The activity will be done by filling
out the puzzle posted on the board.

Flow: Overarching Strategy (4Is): Ideational - Focusing on the formation of concepts

regarding the physical position of angles relative to the polygon's boundary.

Engage: Introduce the lesson purpose by asking learners to distinguish

between "inside" and "outside" using a classroom door. [Context]
Explore: Present a diagram of a polygon with extended sides. Use color-coding
to highlight angles inside (blue) and outside (red). Students categorize angles
based on position. [Connection]

Experience:
• Explicitation: Define Interior Angles (formed inside by intersections) and

• Worked Example: Use a labeled figure to list ∠1 to ∠12 as either interior or

Exterior Angles (formed outside by extending a side).

exterior. [Collaboration]

Empathize: Discuss why understanding boundaries is important in real life,

such as property lines or sports courts. [Connection]
Learning Resources: Protractor, printed polygon sheets, colored markers, crossword puzzle

Opportunities for Art (drawing shapes), English (vocabulary: interior/exterior).

integration:
Assessment. Assessments reveal what learners have gained and what they still need help with.
These are helpful in providing you with information to guide your future instruction
throughout the entire session
Formative Assessment: 1. Which angle is found inside a polygon?
2. True or False: An exterior angle is formed by extending a side.
3. Tell whether the given angle is an interior or exterior angle in the provided
diagram.

Ways Forward. Meaningful learning can also happen beyond the classroom – for both the learners and
the teacher.
Pause and reflect on what happened today.
Extended learning Find 3 objects at home that are polygons and take a photo or draw them. Label
opportunities: the interior and exterior angles.
