GRADUATION CEREMONY (COLLEGE DEPARTMENT)

4 June 2025

(After the Mass while the Students are Marching Going to the Kiosk)

MC: Good morning, everyone! To ensure your comfortable disposition during


the course of the ceremony, we are momentarily calling for a 15-minute break.
Those who would like to go to the bathrooms; you can find them near the back
stage.

Announcement (5 mins before the processional): May I call on the graduating


students with their parents to start forming their lines now.

(Before the Processional begins, the emcee will say)


MC: Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Let us praise and glorify the Lord for
giving us this opportunity to gather as one in His Name. In a short while, we shall
start the 58th Commencement Exercises of Holy Cross College of Calinan, Inc.,
College Department.

Just a Friendly Reminder:

MC: To ensure solemnity of our ceremony, may I inform the dear parents or
guardians of the graduating students and even the visitors that the school has its
own official photographers who will be taking pictures all throughout the event.
With this, please refrain from entering the cordoned area to take pictures of your
graduates. During the event, kindly observe silence by putting your cell phones
off or in the silent mode. Thank you for your cooperation

Dear parents of the graduating students, you may now impose the hood on your
student.

INTRODUCTION:

MC: Today’s 58th Commencement Exercises is a very important affair that any
dedicated student looks forward to. This activity culminates the years spent in
studying and training to prepare oneself for the challenges of the world beyond

the walls of our educational institution – The Holy Cross College of Calinan, Inc.
This is a very special day that truly appreciates the hard work and perseverance
of our beloved graduates and their parents. Today, we give them the honor and
recognition…

Gentlemen, the 58th Commencement Exercises is now officially in session.

MC: May I request everyone to please stand for the entrance of colors
(Color guards march going to the stage)
Please remain standing for the opening prayer to be led by Al Jane A. Esver,
BSED-English Cum Laude. Afterwhich is the singing of the Philippine National
Anthem and the Tayo ay Dabawenyo Song to be conducted by Cyrelle Shaine M.
Ababon, BSED – English, Cum Laude, to be followed by the singing of the HCCC
Hymn to be conducted by Elaisa B. Mones, BSED Social Studies, Cum Laude
and the recitation of the HCCC Vision to be led by Daniela O. Osmena, BSEd –
English, Cum Laude.

II. Philippine National Anthem, HCCC Hymn, Dabawenyo Song, and


Recitation of the HCCC Vision

(After the recitation of the HCCC Vision, the Colors will ground the flags.
Wait until the color guards go down the stage)

MC: Thank you, everyone. You may now be seated. Welcome to this
momentous event! This is the moment where our dearest graduates can finally
reap the sweetest fruit of their years of hard work and dedication. I am Angelie L.
Mamites, your host for the day.

III. Presentation of Candidates for Graduation


MC: At this point in time, the candidates for graduation will be presented by their
respective Program Heads. Jennifer C. Remperas, PhD, the program head of the
Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Secondary Education;
Catherine B. Cataluna, MA, the Bachelor of Physical Education OIC; Yonilyn A.
Loyloy, PhD, the program head of the Bachelor of Arts in Literature; and Alladin
G. Loro, DBA, the program head of the Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration. After which, the candidates for graduation will be recommended
by the Dean of College – Rizalito H. Paga, PhD and will be accepted and
conferred upon them their degrees by the school president, Sr. Cherie Eloisa L.
Garrote, pm, EdD
(After the Acceptance of the Candidates)

MC: Thank you very much and congratulations graduates! You may now be
seated.

IV. Distribution of Diplomas


MC: At this juncture, the diplomas will be distributed. To do the honors in
distributing the diplomas to the graduates is the PM Provincial Superior and the
Chairman of the Board of Trustees – Sr. Charito B. Gorgonio, PM, with the
school president – Sr. Cherie Eloisa L. Garrote, pm, EdD and the Dean of
College – Rizalito H. Paga, PhD to be assisted by the College Registrar -
Michelle O. Gayatin, LPT.

V. Distribution of Institutional and Academic Excellence Awards


MC: Congratulations once again, our dear graduates! At this point, the school is
honored to recognize the academic excellence awardees – This year, we are
proud to present 2 graduates who will be awarded as Magna Cum Laude and 11
graduates who will be awarded as Cum Laude. The Magna Cum Laude award is
granted to a graduating student who has at least 3 years of residency in the
school, with no grade below 90% in each of his/her subject and has a general
average of 94%. Meanwhile, the Cum Laude Award is given to a graduating
student who has at least 2 years of residency in the school, with no grade below
87% and with a general average of 92%. The school will also give 2 Special
Awards to our graduates who excelled in leadership and journalism. The
leadership award is given to a graduating student who has a weighted point
average of at least 85, with good moral character and has not committed any
serious infraction of the HCCC rules and has shown active involvement in school,
church, and community activities for at least two years of his/her stay in the
college. While the special award for Journalism in Broadcast is given to the
graduating Head for Broadcasting of the MGP Chronicle, the broadcast wing of
Mary’s Guide Post the College department, in recognition and honor of her
exceptional commitment to leadership, journalistic integrity, and dedication to the
enhancement of the school’s media presence.

May I request the PM Schools Superintendent, Sr. Lorna B. Murillo, pm, PhD and
the School President - Sr. Cherie Eloisa L. Garrote, pm, EdD to take the center
stage and give the awards. They will be assisted by the Dean of College –

Rizalito H. Paga, PhD. In like manner, the Parents-Teachers’ Association of
Holy Cross College of Calinan is also pleased to give medals to the top 3 Latin
honors and plaques of recognition to their respective parents. May I also call on
the HCCC PTA President, Mr. Van Anthony Quiamco to do the honor in handling
over the medals and plaques. The plaque reads …

MC: The school is similarly proud to give special awards and recognition to
some of the HCCC employees who have rendered generous service to the
institution for quite a number of years.
To do the honors of awarding the plaques and cash incentives to the
awardees, may I request the School President- Sr. Cherie Eloisa L. Garrote, pm,
EdD. Aside from the cash incentives given by the school to the employee
awardees, the HCCC-PTA association is also giving certificates and cash gifts in
addition to what the school is giving. Let me read first the citation of the plaque.

IX. GRADUATION SONG


MC: Thank you, Princess and Anne, for your inspiring words. Ladies and
gentlemen, at this moment, the graduates will render us their graduation song. In
their song, the graduates convey the message of gratitude and remembrance for
the past, acknowledging all the toils and hard work that brought them to the edge
of a brand new day. Expressing both their confidence and hope in facing what
lies in the road ahead, let us hear them sing, “A New Beginning, Across All
Time”

X. PLEDGE OF LOYALTY, PRESENTATION and INDUCTION OF


GRADUATES TO THE HCCC ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

MC: Thank you once again our dear Graduates. You may now go back to your
respective places... At this point, the graduates will deliver their Pledge of
Loyalty to be led by PAMELA DENISE ELIZABETH O. AMISTAD (BEED-
Generalist), Cum Laude.

MC: And now, the graduates will be presented to the HCCC Alumni Association.

Afterwhich, May I call on the Alumni president, Mr. Noel P. Fermendoza, to

MC: We now come to the end of this graduation ceremony. May the virtues of
the Blessed Virgin Mary and the zeal of Saint Marie Rivier keep on burning unto

you, our dear graduates, as you move on to the next phase of your life. To all
who are here today, thank you for gracing this event.
MC: May I request the audience to stay in your respective places as the
graduates sing To Christ Through Mary.
MC: Congratulations to all the graduates and the very proud parents! Mabuhay
