ABSTRACT

This project presents the design and implementation of a Real-Time Intrusion Detection
an Response System integrated with a CI/CD pipeline to enhance application security,
automate deployment, and improve threat response efficiency. The system simulates a
real-world Security Operations Center (SOC) environment where a Flask-based target
application is deployed inside Docker containers and monitored continuously for
malicious login attempts, brute-force attacks, and suspicious API traffic generated from
an attacker machine such as Kali Linux or automated script bots.

The core detection engine analyzes application logs in real time, identifies abnormal
patterns based on predefined security rules, and triggers automated responses such as alert
generation, attack visualization, and defensive actions. A centralized SOC dashboard
provides live monitoring, attack statistics, and system status for security administrators.
To ensure rapid development and secure deployment, the project integrates Git, Jenkins,
and Docker within a CI/CD pipeline, enabling automated code integration, testing,
containerization, and deployment of updated security [Link] combining DevOps
practices with cybersecurity monitoring, this system demonstrates how automation can
reduce incident response time, improve deployment reliability, and strengthen
organizational defense mechanisms. The project highlights the practical application of
continuous integration, continuous delivery, real-time log analysis, and automated
security reponse in building scalable and efficient modern security infrastructures.
