of potato on Saturday. Find the least amount of potato he sold this
week in total.
Answer: This week he has sold 32 kg of potato on Saturday.
So, on the other six days of the week ha has sold in total
6 × 40 kg = 240 kg
This week total sale is:
240kg + 32 kg = 272 kg
Hence, this week he has sold 272 kg of potatoes.
b) In a class, each of the 5 boys’ height is around 120 cm. 6 girls’
height in total is equal to the height of those 5 boys. Find the height of
each girl?
Answer: The total height of 4 boys is
5 × 120 cm = 600 cm

bought 5 litres of petrol and he has used 2 litres of it. Find the price of
the remaining petrol.
Answer: The remaining petrol is
5 litres – 2 litres = 3 litres
The price of the remaining petrol is
3 litres × Rs 95 = Rs 285
Hence, the price of the remaining petrol is Rs 285.
d) Arrange the numbers 504,405,540,450 in ascending order. Find the
difference between the greatest and smallest number among these
numbers.
Answer: The ascending order of the numbers are 405, 450, 504,
540.
The greatest and smallest among these numbers are 540 and 405
respectively.
Hence, the difference is
540 – 405 = 135
e) The numbers written
along the row, column, or diagonal of the square all add up to
the same total. Find the missing numbers.
