Question 1: Please write down the organs of the digestive system with mentioning
the main function of each organ.
Answer 1: Digestive System
1. Mouth: Starts the breakdown of food with chewing by teeth, mixing with saliva from salivary
glands for lubrication and initial digestion.
2. Esophagus: Muscular tube that squeezes food (bolus) down to the stomach.
3. Stomach: Stores and churns food, mixing it with powerful digestive enzymes and stomach
acid for further breakdown.
4. Small Intestine: The primary site for nutrient absorption through finger-like projections
called villi in its walls.
5. Large Intestine: Absorbs water and electrolytes from digested material, forming stool.
6. Rectum: Stores stool until elimination.
7. Anus: Allows for waste elimination from the body.

Question 2: Mention the organs of the upper respiratory system with main
function of each organ.
Answer 2: Upper Respiratory System
A. Nose: Warms, humidifies, and filters the air we breathe.
B. Pharynx: A shared passageway for both air and food. It also houses tonsils that help fight
infection.
C. Larynx: Contains vocal cords responsible for sound production.
D. Trachea: Connects the larynx to the lungs, acting as a major airway for air passage.
E. Bronchi: Large airways that branch into smaller bronchioles to deliver air to the lungs.
