PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

In today's digital age, the integration of technology in education has become increasingly
prevalent. The use of technology offers new opportunities for teaching and learning, providing
access to a wide range of information, facilitating interactive and engaging learning experiences,
and promoting collaboration among students. As a result, educational institutions are exploring
ways to incorporate technology into their classrooms to enhance the learning process.

Research studies have shown that technology integration in the classroom can have a
positive impact on student engagement, academic achievement, and overall learning outcomes. It
has been observed that when students are exposed to technology tools, such as interactive
simulations and multimedia resources, they demonstrate higher levels of motivation and active
participation in their learning activities. This increased engagement can lead to improved
academic performance and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Furthermore, research conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and

Development (OECD) supports the notion that technology use in education can improve
academic achievement. Their comprehensive analysis across multiple countries showed a
positive correlation between technology integration and student performance in subjects such as
mathematics, science, and reading. These findings highlight the potential of technology to
enhance learning outcomes and prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving digital world
consider the factors that can affect their decision, such as their socio-demographic profile, socio-
economic status, parents, job opportunities, academic performance, and personal interests.
Barriers such as financial status and average grade restrictions are possible factors that can affect
the student's decision-making. This might lead to confusion and doubts that may cause the
student to be undecided in choosing their strand. To find out the students‟ preferred strand and
the factors' level of influence on the senior high school strand preferences.
