Statement

The document outlines five studies conducted in Hyderabad, Telangana, focusing on various healthcare interventions and their effects on patient outcomes. These studies assess knowledge of breastfeeding among postnatal mothers, the impact of family-centered care in pediatric intensive care, the effectiveness of a nurse-led early warning system, the use of oral sucrose for pain reduction in neonates, and bubble blowing therapy for pain perception in children during IV cannulation. Each study includes specific variables, hypotheses, and research designs to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions.

A study to assess the knowledge regarding the

exclusive breast feeding amoung post natal
mother ,in a selected hospital in Telangana ,
Hyderabad

Variables :
· Dependent variable : in present study the
knowledge of postnatal mother regarding exclusive
breastfeeding
· Demographic variable:it consist of age (in
years) ,educational status ,religion ,occupation ,
monthly income , dietary pattern and place .

Hypothesis :
· H0: there will be no significant difference in the post
test knowledge scores on exclusive breastfeeding
· H1: there will be a significant difference between
pre test knowledge scores on exclusive
breastfeeding

Research design :
· Quasi experimental pretest post test control group
design
2. A study to assess the impact of family centered care
on clinical outcomes and parental stess amoung
children admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit
(PICU) of a tertiary care hospital in Hyderabad ,
Telangana

Variables :
· Independent variables : family centerd care
intervention
· Dependent variable : parental stress , clinical
outcome , pediatric patient
· Confounding variables : severity of illness , age of
child , socio economic status, previous
hospitalization

Hypothesis :
· H1: family centerd care significantly reduces stress
amoung parents of children of children admitted to
the PICU
· H2: family centerd care significantly improves
selected outcomes amoung pediatric patients

Research design :
· Quasi experimental non equivalent control group
design

3. A study to assess the effectiveness of nurse led

pediatric early warning scoring system in pediatric
clinical deterioration amoung hospitalized pediatric
patients in a selected hospital in Hyderabad , Telangana

Variables :
· Independent variable : nurse led pediatric EWS
system
· Dependent variables : PICU transfer , clinical
deterioration length of hospital stay , emergency
interventions
· Extravenious variables : age , diagnosis , severity
of illness , comorbudities

Hypothesis :
· H1: higher PEWS are significantly associated with
increase risk of clinical deterioration
· H2 : implementation of nuese led PEWS improves
early detection of deterioration amoung hospitalized
children

Research design :
· Prospective observational correlational study

4. A study to assess the effectiveness of oral sucrose

administration on pain reduction during heel prick
procedure amoung neonates admitted in the NICU in a
selected hospital in Hyderabad , Telangana

Variables :
· Independent variables : oral sucrose administration
· Dependent variable : pain score during heel prick
procedure

Hypothesis :
· H1 : neonates recieving oral sucrose will have
signifcantly lower compared to those not recieving
oral sucrose
· H2 : there will be significant association between
pain score and selected demographic variables

Research design :
· True experimental randomized control group design

5.A study to assess the effectiveness of bubble blowing

therapy on pain perception during IV cannulation
amoung children aged 4-10 years in a selected hospital
in Hyderabad , Telangana

Variables :
· Independent variables : bubble blowing therapy
· Dependent variable : pain perception during IV
cannulation

Hypothesis :
· H1: children recieving bubble blowing therapy will
have significantly lower pain scores than children
recieving routine care
· H2: pain perception will be significantly associated
with selected demographic variables

Research design :
· True experimental post test only control group
design
