SOPs FOR HOUSEOFFICERS OF

DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY
1. Reach ward at 8:00 AM sharp and do not leave the unit before 2:00
pm.
2. Any house officer reaching the ward after 8:30 will be marked
absent.
3. House officers on duty at trauma and OPD should reach their duty
station by 8:30 AM after marking their attendance in ward.
4. At least one Female house officer must reach OPD at 8:30 AM. Rest
of the house officers on OPD duty should come to OPD after morning
round is completed.
5. House officers on OT duty should attend the morning round in ward,
present their beds and then go to OT.
6. House officers on night ward and trauma duty should not leave the
ward before presenting their beds in the morning round.
7. Beds of house officers that have duties in trauma and OPD should be
covered by their colleagues in respective wards, if any bed is not
covered by house officers in the morning round, all the house officers
of corresponding ward will be fined.
8. If any house officer is found absent from duty station without prior
application, they will be marked absent and pay deducted.
9. Any house officers found without overall in duty hours will be fined.
10. Any house officer that is writing an application for leave, must
mention their designated duties in ward, trauma and OPD, and then
mention the names of house officers that will provide cover for those
duties.
