Rainfall activity was vigorous over Gujarat region.
Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Ahmedabad and
Surat.
Rainfall occurred at most places over NorthGujarat region; at many places over South Gujarat
region; at isolated places over [Link] was dry over Kutch.
Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in parts over Coastal Saurashtra; no large change in rest of
the region.
Maximum temperatures were below normal in parts over Kutch; normal over rest of the region.
41.0 Deg. C. was the highest maximum temperature in the region recorded at Surendranagar.
Synoptic Situation:
The Northern Limit of Monsooncontinues to pass through 10°N/60°E, 9°/65°E, 8.5°N/70°E,
8°N/75°E, 7.8°N/78°E, 8°N/80°E, 10°N/80°E, 13°N/87°E, 16°N/90°E, 19°N/93°E and 22°N/97°E.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsooninto some more parts of
southwest & southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep Islands, some parts of Kerala & Tamil Nadu,
some more parts of southwest, westcentral, eastcentral & northeast Bay of Bengal, and remaining
parts of southeast Bay of Bengal around 4th June.
TheWestern Disturbanceas a cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood
between 3.1 & 9.4 km above mean sea levelpersists.
The upper air cyclonic circulationover Central Pakistan and adjoining northwest Rajasthan at 0.9
km above mean sea level persists.
The upper air cyclonic circulationover north east Rajasthan & neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean
sea level persists.
A fresh western Disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from 3rd June
Southwesterly to Westerly winds are prevailing at lower levels over the region.
