Question 1 (10 marks)
(a) Definition (2 marks): The Internet is a global network that connects millions of computers and
devices around the world, allowing them to communicate and share information.
(b) Any four terminologies, 2 marks each (8 marks). Examples include:
• URL (Uniform Resource Locator) – the unique address of a website or web page.
• WWW (World Wide Web) – a system of linked web pages that can be accessed via the Internet.
• ISP (Internet Service Provider) – a company that provides access to the Internet.
• Web browser – a software application used to access and view websites.
• Hyperlink – a clickable link that takes a user from one web page to another.
• Download – transferring a file from the Internet to a computer.
• Upload – transferring a file from a computer to the Internet.
• Search engine – a tool used to search for information on the Internet (e.g. Google).

such as documents, pictures, videos, or programs between two or more computers or devices.
(b) Any three methods, correctly named and explained, 2⅔ marks each — approx. 8 marks total.
Examples:
• Email attachment – sending files as attachments through email.
• Cloud storage – uploading files to services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive for others to
access.
• Flash drive/USB – copying files onto a portable storage device and transferring them physically.
• Bluetooth – sharing files wirelessly between nearby devices.
• File Transfer Protocol (FTP) – transferring files between computers over a network.
• Local Area Network (LAN) sharing – sharing files between computers connected on the same
network.
