HOW ARE MEDIA PRODUCTS CREATED? WHAT ARE THE CURRENT
AND FUTURE TRENDS IN MEDIA?
Module Summary
Media products and information are ever-present, and with the technology that is easily accessible to us, it follows that we create media products that are
timely and relevant. In this module, the students will learn the importance of media and information literacy, evaluate media products, create campaigns,
and discuss how media trends are affecting our society. It is hoped that this module would help the students apply the skills and principles of media and
information literacy they have learned in this and in the previous modules.
Approximate Time Needed: 4 hours per week for 20 weeks

learned in the final three lessons of the book.
Portfolio Tasks
Portfolio Task 1: A media product that conveys the importance of media and information literacy in today’s society. They can choose between a 20-page
newspaper, a 30-page magazine, a 15-minute radio show, a 10-minute TV show, or a 5-minute short film which they will share through
their media and information literacy blog.
