PROJECT INTRODUCTION
1.1 Project Title
Student Registration and Academic Information System
1.2 Project Overview
The Student Registration and Academic Information System is a simple Android-based
mobile application designed to assist educational institutions in managing basic student
information and academic records. The application provides a centralized platform
through which students, teachers, and administrators can access and manage
academic information efficiently.
The system supports three different types of users:
1. Administrator
2. Teacher
3. Student
Each user is assigned specific roles and responsibilities according to their permissions
within the system.
The Administrator is responsible for managing student records and viewing student
information. The Teacher is responsible for entering and updating student marks. The
Student can create an account, log into the system, and access personal academic
information such as marks and class schedules.
The primary purpose of this project is to demonstrate the implementation of user
authentication, role-based access control, and academic information management
within a mobile application environment.
This project has been developed as a prototype application with a focus on simplicity,
usability, and accessibility. It provides students with quick access to academic
information while reducing the dependency on traditional paper-based records.
The application also promotes better communication between students and teachers by
making important academic information readily available through mobile devices.
1.3 Problem Statement
In many educational institutions, students often face difficulties accessing academic
information such as marks and schedules. Traditional record management methods can
be time-consuming and inefficient.
This project aims to provide a simple mobile-based solution that allows students to
access academic information easily while enabling teachers and administrators to
manage records more efficiently.
1.4 Project Objectives
The main objectives of this project are:
• To provide secure user authentication through a login system.
• To allow students to create and manage their accounts.
• To enable administrators to manage student records.
• To allow teachers to enter and update student marks.
• To provide students with access to their academic marks.
• To provide students with access to their class schedules.
• To demonstrate role-based access control within a mobile application.
• To develop a simple, user-friendly, and easy-to-use interface.
1.5 System Users
The system consists of three categories of users:
1.5.1 Administrator
The Administrator is responsible for managing the system and student information.
Responsibilities:
• Login to the system.
• Add new students.
• View student information.
• Manage student records.
1.5.2 Teacher
The Teacher is responsible for managing student academic performance.
Responsibilities:
• Login to the system.
• Enter student marks.
• Update student marks.
• View assigned student records.
1.5.3 Student
The Student is the primary user of the application.
Responsibilities:
• Register an account.
• Login to the system.
• View personal marks.
• View class schedules.
• Access academic information.

1.7 Expected Outcome
The expected outcome of this project is a functional Android application that provides a
simple and effective platform for managing basic academic information.
Administrators will be able to manage student records, teachers will be able to enter
and update marks, and students will be able to access their academic information
through their mobile devices.
The application will demonstrate the practical implementation of mobile application
development concepts, user authentication, role-based access control, and academic
information management while maintaining simplicity and ease of use.
1.8 Conclusion
The Student Registration and Academic Information System is a simple yet practical
mobile application that demonstrates how technology can be used to improve academic
information management. By providing separate functionalities for administrators,
teachers, and students, the system offers an organized and efficient approach to
accessing and managing educational records.
The project serves as a prototype solution and provides a foundation for future
