NARRATIVE REPORT

TAGAYTAY CITY INTEGRATED SCHOOL

Engaging yourself to the real world make you encounter more actual
experience that could help us to grow on our field of specialization. Before the
observation starts I was really excited to experience a different things in the field of
teaching since we’re going to observe, what makes me more excited is that we can
meet a lot of students with different learning styles. This field study made me
realized a lot of things when it comes in teaching and learning process.
October. 13, 2023. It was our first day and seeing a lot of students and teacher
everywhere makes me think that “it’s finally happening”. At first it was a bit
challenging for me because I don’t know if what will happen is smooth like butter
but I realized, first will always be challenging since I’m not familiar on what should
I do and how should it be done. I felt a bit nervous because our Cooperating teacher
is a key teacher and I’m thinking that she is really strict but at the end of the day, she
was not that kind of teacher. I’m also excited to see how she will handle a class in
Grade 10, then we finally enter in the first section and our CT introduced us to the
class then we sat at the back and wrote what we observed during the class
discussion. What I really like about our CT is that she really managed her time very
well and she never left the class hanging, like she had the mastery of the content,

subject matter, she really imparts knowledge to her students. Also, during the
discussion, she really helps her students in recitation, for example they can’t
construct an idea and the she was encouraging her students to construct the idea
most especially in English. I really saw how dedicated our Cooperating Teacher
when it comes in teaching students, I sensed passion and willingness to her doing
what should be done as a teacher.

In every classroom we can’t avoid those noisy students who can’t shut their mouth
even there’s a teacher in front of them and even the teacher start to talk they still
mumbling and gossiping at the back like there’s no teacher in front. But as I observed,
sometimes those students can listen very well if the discussion proper start and they’re the
participative students that whenever the teacher asking for example they are the one who
will give an example for the specific question. What I’ve learned is that if you really want
to have the authority in front of your students to be an effective teacher, you must have a
strong confidence and you should modulate your voice to make you audible enough for
your students to listen very well. The collaboration between colleagues was observed in
their school community, I saw their strong relationship, strong bonding with their
colleagues and students that really helped them to accomplish the tasks they need to finish
and the things that will help their students to developed skills. In the field of teaching
strong relationship with colleagues and students is necessary to build a relationship that
will last forever because I believe that strong relationship is a way to make things lighter
as a cotton.
My favorite part in our field study was during November. 13, 2023. because
during this time our CT let us to have the spelling drills and the quiz at and I was like
really happy by the time that the students was focus to me and they are listening carefully
because of the words that they need to spell out. It made me think on how I will handle
my students during my internship journey next year. I’m curious if I will do the same like
our CT when it comes to facilitating the students and encouraging the students to answer
during the recitation. As I want to be the teacher that is responsible in every action I make.

NARRATIVE REPORT
December. 11, 2023. Last day of my duty in our cooperating school and they are all
busy decorating classroom for their upcoming Christmas party and events for teachers.
Since it’s my last day I want to grab this opportunity to have pictures with Grade 10
students as my last request to Ma’am Marnee, I was so happy when I heard that my
student will miss us and that’s also the time I had time to talk to them like random topics
because during observation time we’re just sitting at the back observing them. I will
surely miss them too, though sometimes they are very noisy. It’s not easy to handle
different students with different behaviors but if you really loved what you are doing then
it will be a piece of cake for you.
Lastly, I am very thankful to our Cooperating Teacher for guiding us in this journey
and letting us experience the things that we might encounter once we’re already in the
field of teaching. She truly helped me to see beyond my expectation about the teaching
and learning process and I know that with that experienced I really learned a lot about the
field of teaching. I’m also thankful to my co-observer for helping me to survived this field
study and finally we are now closer enough to our goal which is to become a teacher.
