Course Academic Integrity Policy

All students of the University are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic honesty. Acts of cheating,
plagiarism, and other forms of dishonest, unethical, or immoral behavior will not be tolerated.
Any student found guilty of academic dishonesty—such as cheating during examinations or plagiarizing submitted
course requirements—will receive a failing grade (F or 5) in the course, at a minimum.
Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to:
• Using unauthorized materials (e.g., books, notes, devices) during tests;
• Copying from or providing answers to others during assessments;
• Submitting assignments, reports, or papers that are not one’s own;
• Collaborating without permission on exams or academic tasks;
• Forging signatures, such as signing another student’s name on attendance sheets;
• Engaging in any activity that undermines academic integrity.
• All students are expected to be familiar with and abide by these principles throughout their academic
journey.

Attendance
Attendance is required in all courses. Students may incur absences of up to 20% of the total class hours; beyond this
limit, the student may be dropped from the course after two (2) formal warnings. For excused absences (e.g., due to
illness, emergencies, or university-sanctioned activities), the instructor may assign alternative requirements or
make-up work as necessary.

Class Participation
Active participation in all class activities, discussions, and group work is expected. Class participation forms an
essential component of the final grade and reflects student engagement and preparedness.

Late Work
Late submissions will incur a penalty of 25% deduction per day from the score obtained. This policy applies to all
assignments, reports, and course outputs, unless otherwise specified by the instructor due to justified reasons.

Missed Examinations
Make-up examinations will only be allowed for students with valid and documented reasons (e.g., medical
certificate, official university activity). Missed exams must be taken within one (1) week from the student’s return.
Failure to comply within this period may result in a score of zero (0) for the missed assessment.

Use of AI Tools
Students are allowed to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, code assistants) only with proper declaration. If a
student uses any AI-powered assistance in completing assignments, projects, or other academic tasks, they must
submit an AI Declaration Form as prescribed by the instructor or course guidelines. Failure to disclose AI usage will
be considered a violation of academic integrity and shall be subject to disciplinary sanctions.
