FORM 2 ICT SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT 1

You are required to use a spreadsheet to answer the following question


1. Open Microsoft Excel and create the budget below. [2]

a) Write your name and class in the header. [1]


b) Insert a new row on top of row one and write the title “MY HOME BUDGET FOR
JULY 2026” [1]
c) Merge the cells A1:E1, change the font size of the heading to 14 and apply bold
attribute. [3]
d) Enter a formula in E3 to calculate the total cost of the first item on the list. [2]
e) Replicate the formula down to calculate totals for all the items. [1]
f) Calculate the total cost of the budget using a function. [2]
g) If you were given a K2700, use a simple formula to calculate how much change you
will remain with in cell E8 [2]
h) Align your data centre and change the font type to Arial. [2]
i) Use a pie chart to visualize your ITEM, QTY and Price data and change the chart
style to style 3. [2]
j) Apply borders to the whole data and show formulas. [2]
k) Save your work in documents. [1]
