Protothon – 1 Day To Go

Short Film Script

Scene 1 – System Start

INT. ROOM – DAY

SHOT 1 – CLOSE UP: A laptop power button is pressed.


SHOT 2 – SCREEN CLOSE UP: The computer boots up and the desktop appears.
SHOT 3 – MEDIUM SHOT: A student sits at the desk staring at the screen.

Student (murmuring): “Alright… let’s see what I can come up with.”

Scene 2 – Searching for Ideas

SHOT 4 – LOW ANGLE SHOT OF SCREEN: Tabs open and close rapidly.
Google searches appear: “project ideas”, “creative concept”.
SHOT 5 – OVER THE SHOULDER: The student scrolls through websites, confused.

Student: “Nothing good… why is this so hard?”

SHOT 6 – SCREEN CLOSE UP: ChatGPT opens in a new tab.


Student: “Maybe this can help…”

Scene 3 – Friend Interrupts

SHOT 7 – WIDE SHOT: Door opens and a friend walks in.


Friend: “Hey! Did you finish the work?”

SHOT 8 – TWO SHOT:


Student: “Not yet… I’m still figuring it out.”
Friend: “You’ve been sitting here for hours. Aren’t you just wasting time?”
Student: “I’m trying to get an idea first.”
Friend: “Deadline is tomorrow, remember that.”
Scene 4 – Back to Work

SHOT 9 – CLOSE UP: The student sighs.


SHOT 10 – TABLE SHOT: Notebook is opened.
SHOT 11 – INSERT SHOT: Pen scribbles notes while the student reads a book.

Student (quietly): “Okay… think… think…”

Scene 5 – Inner Thoughts

SHOT 12 – CLOSE UP: The student leans back, thinking.


VOICE OVER:
“What should I do now…?”
“Will this even work?”
“Maybe I’ll figure it out tomorrow…”

Scene 6 – Resolution

SHOT 13 – OVERHEAD SHOT: The notebook shows a final idea written clearly.
SHOT 14 – CLOSE UP: The student smiles.

Student: “Got it.”

FADE OUT – END
