Module2 Practice Plan
Module2 Practice Plan
Watch through all the videos in this module, downloading (and printing out if possible)
the various PDFs/Guitar Pro Files for each lesson. Make notes on what you’re learning
on the scores and/or in a notebook/Word document as you watch the videos.
Note: that there are quite a lot of videos in this module so you might find your first practice
sessions in this course simply watching the videos and watching the process on how I am
arranging my song. That’s perfectly fine and to be expected. In fact, it may best to watch all the
videos all the way through before you start arranging so you get a bird’s eye view of the whole
arranging process before you begin your own arrangement.
Choose a tune that you would like to do as your first chord melody arranging project
Ensure you have a suitable tool to arrange (software or pen and paper)
Once you have your tune chosen, go through the 7 steps I demonstrated throughout
this module to start creating your very own chord melody arrangement:

Once you have your basic arrangement, follow the same process I demonstrated in the
Making Your Arrangement Lesson to make your arrangement more playable and
comfortable under your fingers.
Module 2 Goal: The first version of your own chord melody arrangement of your chosen tune,
which would be playable in a jazz trio setting (i.e. your guitar supported by bass and drums).
Task: Commit to working on your arrangement at least 30 minutes daily for 5 sessions
to get your arrangement done.
