Working of Web Control Room
The Web Control Room acts as the central management system in Robotic Process Automation
(RPA). It controls the complete lifecycle of software bots, from deployment to execution and
monitoring.
Step-by-Step Working
1. User Login
o The administrator or developer logs into the Web Control Room using a web
browser.
2. Bot Development
o Developers create automation bots using an RPA development tool and upload
them to the Web Control Room.
3. Bot Storage
o The uploaded bots are stored securely in the Control Room repository.
4. Bot Scheduling
o The administrator schedules bots to run at a specific time or based on a trigger.
5. Bot Assignment
o The Control Room assigns the scheduled bots to available Bot Runner machines.
6. Bot Execution
o The Bot Runner downloads the assigned bot and executes the automation task.
7. Real-Time Monitoring
o The Control Room continuously monitors bot execution and displays the status
(Running, Completed, Failed, or Pending).
8. Reports and Logs
o After execution, execution logs, reports, and performance statistics are generated
and stored.
9. Alerts and Notifications
o If any errors occur, the Control Room sends alerts or notifications to
administrators for quick action.
Advantages
Centralized bot management
Secure user authentication
Automatic bot scheduling
Real-time monitoring
Detailed execution reports
Easy bot deployment
Improved security and auditing
2. Client Introduction
A Client is the computer or user application that connects to the Web Control Room to access
RPA services. The client allows users to create, run, monitor, and manage automation tasks by
communicating with the Control Room over a network.
Client Functions
Connects to the Web Control Room
Runs automation tasks
Uploads and downloads bots
Monitors bot execution
Receives reports and notifications
Manages automation projects
Types of Clients
1)Developer Client – A Developer Client is used by RPA developers to design, build, test, and
debug automation bots. After creating a bot, the developer uploads it to the Web Control Room,
where it is stored and managed.
Working
1. The developer logs in to the RPA development tool.
2. The automation process (bot) is created.
3. The bot is tested and debugged.
4. The completed bot is uploaded to the Web Control Room.
5. The Control Room stores the bot for deployment and execution.
2) Runner Client (Bot Runner) – A Bot Runner Client is responsible for executing automation
bots. It receives bots from the Web Control Room and performs the assigned tasks automatically
without user intervention.
Working
1. The Web Control Room assigns a bot to the Bot Runner.
2. The Bot Runner downloads the assigned bot.
3. The bot performs the automation task.
4. The execution status is sent back to the Web Control Room.
5. Execution logs and reports are generated.
3)Administrator Client – An Administrator Client manages the entire RPA environment. It
controls users, permissions, bot scheduling, security, and monitors bot performance through the
Web Control Room.
Working
1. The administrator logs in to the Web Control Room.
2. Users and roles are created and managed.
3. Bots are scheduled for execution.
4. Running bots are monitored in real time.
5. Reports, logs, and alerts are reviewed.
6. Necessary actions are taken if errors occur.
Features Panel
The Features Panel is an important section of the Web Control Room in Robotic Process
Automation (RPA). It provides easy access to all the tools and options needed to create, deploy,
monitor, and manage bots. Both developers and administrators use the Features Panel to perform
automation tasks efficiently.
Features of the Features Panel
1. Dashboard
Displays the overall status of bots and automation processes.
Shows running, completed, failed, and pending bot executions.
2. Bot Management
Create, upload, edit, and deploy bots.
Manage bot versions and updates.
3. Device Management
Register and manage Bot Runner machines.
Assign bots to available devices.
4. User Management
Create and manage user accounts.
Assign user roles and permissions.
5. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Provides secure access based on user roles.
Restricts unauthorized access to resources.
6. Bot Scheduling
Schedule bots to run automatically at specific times.
Supports recurring and event-based execution.
7. Workload Management
Distributes automation tasks among available Bot Runners.
Balances workload for better performance.
8. Credential Vault
Stores usernames, passwords, and API keys securely.
Allows bots to access credentials without exposing sensitive information.
9. Repository / Source Control
Stores automation projects and bot packages.
Maintains different versions of bots.
10. Monitoring
Tracks bot execution in real time.
Displays execution status and performance.
11. Reports and Analytics
Generates reports on bot performance and execution history.

Dashboard (Home, Bots, Devices, Audit, Workload, Insights)
The Dashboard is the main screen of the Web Control Room. It gives administrators and
developers a complete view of the RPA environment. From the dashboard, users can monitor bot
execution, manage devices, view audit logs, track workloads, and analyze automation
performance in one place. It helps users quickly identify issues, monitor system health, and make
informed decisions.
1. Home
The Home page provides an overview of the entire automation environment. It displays key
information such as the total number of bots, active devices, recent bot executions, notifications,
and system health. Users can quickly access frequently used features from this page.
2. Bots
The Bots section allows users to manage all automation bots available in the Control Room.
Users can create, upload, deploy, start, stop, edit, or delete bots. It also shows the current status
of each bot, such as Running, Completed, Failed, or Pending.
