Position: Production Manager Reporting to: GM: Operations
R80 000 – R100 000 per month ctc
Job Summary:
1. The Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the
operations team within PV. This role focuses on developing and implementing operational
excellence, managing production processes, and ensuring efficient and profitable operations based
on industry best practices.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Management:
1.1. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing operations team.
1.2. Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance and ensure effective discipline.
1.3. Identify training and development opportunities to build team competencies.
2. Operational Excellence:
2.1. Oversee daily operations, analyzing production and maintenance processes to identify issues and
recommend improvements.
2.2. Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to ensure all projects are executed on time and
within budget, in line with KFA targets.
2.3. Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
2.4. Measure and report on Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency (OEE) to assess production
performance and identify areas for improvement.
3. Quality Management:
3.1. Ensure adherence to quality control procedures to meet industry standards and client
specifications.
3.2. Work closely with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues.
4. Maintenance and Support Services:
4.1. Manage maintenance activities to ensure all equipment and facilities are in optimal working
condition and to minimise downtime.
4.2. Oversee security operations to maintain a safe working environment.
4.3. Ensure cleaning staff maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.

4.4. Coordinate the activities of welding specialists and paint shop operations to ensure quality and
efficiency.
5. Health and Safety:
5.1. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
5.2. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
6. Resource and Budget Management:
6.1. Manage headcount to align with histogram
6.2. Ensure effective utilisation of personnel within target
6.3. Manage resources such as equipment, and materials, to ensure operational demands are met.
6.4. Optimize resource utilization to minimize downtime and reduce operational costs.
6.5. Oversee budgeting, reporting, and financial planning related to operations, identifying cost-saving
opportunities without compromising quality.
7. Continuous Improvement:
7.1. Champion continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation within the team.
7.2. Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive operational
enhancements.
8. Communication and Collaboration:
8.1. Foster effective communication between departments, Including Project Management and
Production
8.2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges.
9. Regulatory Compliance:
9.1. Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory processes, monitoring compliance with relevant laws
and standards.

Qualifications and Experience required:
1. BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING, OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT, OR A RELATED FIELD.
2. 5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN OPERATIONS OR PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT WITHIN THE ENGINEERING
INDUSTRY.
3. STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING BUDGET CONTROL AND COST
ANALYSIS.
4. KNOWLEDGE OF BEST PRACTICES IN OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT.
The incumbent should possess/ display the following key skills or attributes:
1. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
2. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
