1. OPENING (2–3 mins)
[Walk confidently to center stage, big smile, mic in hand]
"GOOD MORNING, ORSEM BATCH 2026!!"
[Wait for applause/response — if weak, repeat louder]
"Ohhh come on, I know you all had coffee this morning — or energy drinks, no
judgment! Let's try that again — GOOD MORNING, ORSEM BATCH 2026!"
[Wait for bigger response]
"That's what I'm talking about! My name is [Emcee Name], and I will be your host,
your hype-person, and — fair warning — your biggest fan for the next few minutes,
because we are about to have SOME FUN."
[Pause, look around the crowd]
"Look around you. Take a good look. [Pause] These are the people who are going
to be your blockmates, your groupmates, your barkada, and maybe — MAYBE —
your future biggest rival in a group project."
[Wait for laughs]
"But before all that, we're going to break the ice — literally and figuratively — with a
few games. We've got FIVE icebreakers lined up for you today: stretching, a
scavenger hunt called Bring Me, Follow the Leader, Maritime Charades, and a logo-
guessing game that's going to test how much of your brain has been hijacked by
advertisements."
[Wait for laughs]
"Now here's the deal — I need 100% participation. Not 99%. Not 'sige na nga.' A
hundred. Percent. Can I count on you?"
[Raise mic toward crowd, wait for "Yes!"]
"I heard some hesitation. One more time — CAN I COUNT ON YOU?"
[Wait for loud "YES!"]
"Perfect. Let's get this energy started — everybody, please stand up, because our
first icebreaker needs you on your feet!"
2. ICEBREAKER 1: STRETCHING — EVERYONE (2–3 mins)
[Gesture for the whole crowd to stand]
"Everybody up! Yes, you too, the ones pretending to still be asleep in the back — I
see you!"
[Wait for everyone to stand]
"Alright, before we jump into games, let's make sure nobody pulls a muscle today,
because trust me, the last thing we need is a freshman getting carried out on a
stretcher during orientation week."
[Wait for laughs]
"Let's start with the neck. Slowly tilt your head to the right... hold it... now to the
left... hold it... now look down like you just saw your grades... and now look up like
you're praying they change."
[Pause for laughs]
"Now the shoulders — big circles, forward — 1, 2, 3, 4, 5! And reverse — 1, 2, 3, 4,
5!"
"Arms next — stretch both arms up to the sky like you're reaching for a passing
grade... hold it... and relax."
"Now let's get the waist — hands on your hips, twist to the right... twist to the left...
pretend you're trying to see who's talking about you behind your back!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Legs — shake out your right leg like you're trying to shake off a bad exam result...
now the left!"
"And for our grand finale — everybody take a deep breath in... [pause]... and let it
all out with the loudest cheer you've got, because ORSEM 2026 is officially ready to
have some fun! On three — 1, 2, 3—"
[Cue loud crowd cheer]
"THAT is the energy I needed! Alright, keep that energy — because it's time for Set
1 to shine!"
SET 1 3. ICEBREAKER 2: BRING ME (6–7 mins)
[Energetic tone, walk across stage]
"Alright, Set 1 — this next game is called BRING ME! Here's how it works: I will
shout out an item. Your group's job is to find it — from your own pockets, bags, or
bodies — and bring it up front as FAST as possible. First group to bring the correct
item wins the round!"
"A few ground rules before we start — SAFETY FIRST, okay? No pushing, no
tripping over chairs, no fighting your groupmates over a ballpen. We want winners,
not warriors."
[Wait for laughs]
"Also — please, PLEASE do not take things from strangers outside your group.
Bawal manghingi ng passport sa katabi mo. This is an icebreaker, not a heist."
[Wait for laughs]
"Alright, let's start EASY and get harder as we go. Are you ready?"
[Wait for "Yes!"]
Round 1 (Easy): "BRING ME... a ballpen!" [Pause 10–15 seconds, scan the
crowd] "Ohh, I see some of you already running like it's a fire drill! And the winner
is... Group [X]! Let's hear it for them!"
Round 2: "BRING ME... your Student ID!" [Pause] "Winner — Group [X]! Look at
that speed, parang naghahabol ng UV Express!"
[Wait for laughs]
Round 3: "BRING ME... a coin! Any coin, any amount — we're not picky!" [Pause]
"Winner — Group [X]!"
Round 4 (Getting harder): "BRING ME... a shoelace!" [Pause] "Ohh, I see
someone taking off their actual shoe right now — commitment level: 100!"
[Wait for laughs] "Winner — Group [X]!"
Round 5: "BRING ME... a watch!" [Pause] "Winner — Group [X]!"
Round 6 (Harder): "BRING ME... a handkerchief!" [Pause] "Winner — Group [X]!
Very hygienic group, I see you."
Round 7 (Tricky): "BRING ME... something BLUE!" [Pause] "Ohh, look at the
creativity — blue shirts, blue pens, someone's blue nails! Winner — Group [X]!"
Round 8 (Final, hardest): "For our FINAL round — BRING ME... someone wearing
GLASSES!" [Pause, big reaction] "And look at that — dragging their poor glasses-
wearing groupmate up here like a trophy! Winner — Group [X]!"
[Big smile, raise both arms] "Let's give it up for EVERY single group who joined —
you all brought the speed, the chaos, and the comedy! That's a wrap for Bring Me!"
[Wait for applause]
4. ICEBREAKER 3: FOLLOW THE LEADER (4–5 mins)
[Clap hands to regain energy]
"Alright, Set 1, still with me? Good — because our next game is FOLLOW THE
LEADER! Simple rules: I do a move, you copy it. That's it! Sounds easy, right?"
[Smirk] "Well, here's the twist — we're going to start SLOW... and get FASTER. So
if you fall behind, that's on you, not me."
[Wait for laughs]
"Let's go! Follow my lead!"
[Start slow, build pace with each round]
"CLAP!" [clap twice] "STOMP!" [stomp twice] "SPIN!" [spin around once] "RAISE
BOTH HANDS!" [raise hands high] "TOUCH YOUR SHOULDERS!" [touch
shoulders]
[Speed up] "Okay, getting faster now — CLAP! STOMP! SPIN! Come on, keep up!"
[Wait for laughter as some fall behind] "I SEE some of you spinning the wrong way
— that's okay, we don't judge, we just laugh a little!"
[Add more moves, faster pace] "JUMP!" [jump] "FREEZE!" [freeze completely]
[Hold the freeze for comedic effect] "Nobody move! I see you, sir in the blue shirt,
still swaying — FREEZE means FREEZE!"
[Wait for laughs, then release] "And... DANCE FOR FIVE SECONDS! Show me
your best moves — GO!"
[Count down dramatically] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1 — aaaand FREEZE again!"
[Big buildup] "Alright, for our GRAND FINALE — when I say go, JUMP as high as
you can and shout 'SET 1, LET'S GOOO!' Ready? 3... 2... 1... GO!"
[Crowd jumps and shouts]
"THAT is how Set 1 follows a leader! Give yourselves a massive round of applause
— you all just survived Follow the Leader!" [Wait for applause]
5. TRANSITION: SET 1 → SET 2 (1 min)
[Walk across stage, big smile]
"Wow, Set 1 — you really brought the chaos and the energy today! Let's give them
ONE more round of applause before we move on!"
[Wait for applause]
"Now, don't get too comfortable, because it's time to hand things over to SET 2! Set
2, are you ready to show Set 1 how it's done?"
[Wait for cheer from Set 2 side]
"OHHHH, I heard that! Alright, Set 2 — get ready, because we're taking you out to
sea with our next game — MARITIME CHARADES!"
SET 2
6. ICEBREAKER 4: MARITIME CHARADES (5–6 mins)
[Energetic tone]
"Set 2, this next game has a theme — MARITIME! Think ships, sailors, oceans, and
everything in between. Here's how it works: I'll call up two representatives. I'll show
them a word, and they have to ACT it out — no talking, no sound effects, no
mouthing the words! Their groupmates have to guess what it is."
"You'll have 30 SECONDS per round. First group to shout the correct answer gets
the point. Whoever has the most points by the end — bragging rights for LIFE. Or at
least until lunch."
[Wait for laughs]
"Let's get our first two actors up here! Come on down!"
[Representatives approach, emcee shows word discreetly — e.g., on a card]
"Alright, your word is... ANCHOR! Ready? Groupmates, get ready to guess! 3... 2...
1... GO!"
[Start 30-second countdown, comedic commentary while they act] "Ohh, look at
that anchor drop! Very convincing! ...Times up! Group [X] gets the point!"
"Next word — CAPTAIN! GO!" [Pause, comment] "I see a very confident captain
pose right there — very presidential! Group [X] gets it!"
"Next — LIFEBOAT! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"COMPASS! GO!" [Pause] "Ohh, spinning around like they're lost — very accurate
acting! Group [X]!"
"RADAR! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"LIGHTHOUSE! GO!" [Pause] "I see some very tall, very still acting there —
beautiful lighthouse impression! Group [X]!"
"CARGO SHIP! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"TUGBOAT! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"LIFE JACKET! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"HELM! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"PROPELLER! GO!" [Pause] "Ohh, that spinning is making ME dizzy! Group [X]!"
"BINOCULARS! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"PORT! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"STARBOARD! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"ROPE! GO!" [Pause] "Group [X]!"
"And for our FINAL word — SHIP WHEEL! GO!" [Pause, biggest reaction] "Group
[X] takes the final point!"
[Tally dramatically] "Let's add up those points... and our MARITIME CHARADES
CHAMPIONS are... Group [X]! Congratulations! Everyone, give our actors AND our
champions a huge round of applause!" [Wait for applause]
7. ICEBREAKER 5: GUESS THE LOGO — MODIFIED LOGOS
(4–5 mins)
[Gesture for crowd to settle/sit if applicable]
"Alright, Set 2, for our last game, let's put those brains to work — this is GUESS
THE LOGO!"
"Here's the twist — these are famous logos you've seen a THOUSAND times... but
we've modified them, hidden parts of them, or just messed with them a little. Your
job is to guess the ORIGINAL brand. Shout your answer as loud as you can — first
correct shout wins the round!"
"Are you ready to test how much your brain has been trained by advertising?"
[Wait for "Yes!"]
"Let's go! Logo number 1!" [Reveal modified McDonald's logo] [Countdown] "5... 4...
3... 2... 1!" [Pause for shouts] "And the answer is... McDONALD'S! Ba-da-ba-ba-ba,
I'm lovin' it — but not as much as I'm loving this crowd's energy!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Logo number 2!" [Reveal modified Nike logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!" "The
answer is... NIKE! Just guess it — that's basically what you all did!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Logo number 3!" [Reveal modified Adidas logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!"
"The answer is... ADIDAS! I heard some of you shouting Nike first — busted, mga
plastik!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Logo number 4!" [Reveal modified Jollibee logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!"
"The answer is... JOLLIBEE! Of course you'd get this one instantly — this is
basically a national landmark!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Logo number 5!" [Reveal modified Shell logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!"
"The answer is... SHELL!"
"Logo number 6!" [Reveal modified Pepsi logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!"
"The answer is... PEPSI!"
"Logo number 7!" [Reveal modified Coca-Cola logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2...
1!" "The answer is... COCA-COLA! I heard a very confident 'Pepsi' from somewhere
— sir, ma'am, please reconsider your life choices!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Logo number 8!" [Reveal modified Starbucks logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!"
"The answer is... STARBUCKS! I KNEW this crowd would get that one fast — I can
smell the caffeine addiction from here!"
[Wait for laughs]
"Logo number 9!" [Reveal modified Apple logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2... 1!"
"The answer is... APPLE! Everybody's dream phone, am I right?"
"And our FINAL logo!" [Reveal modified Netflix logo] [Countdown] "5... 4... 3... 2...
1!" "The answer is... NETFLIX! And that's a wrap — no pun intended — for Guess
the Logo!"
[Big smile, raise arms] "Give yourselves a huge round of applause — turns out you
all have PhDs in Advertisement Recognition!" [Wait for applause]
8. CLOSING (2 mins)
[Walk to center stage, warm and proud tone]
"Wow. WOW. Look at that energy, ORSEM Batch 2026! From stretching, to
sprinting for a ballpen, to acting out anchors and propellers, to shouting brand
names like your life depended on it — you all showed up today, and you showed up
BIG."
[Pause, look around]
"Let's give a massive round of applause to SET 1 — our Bring Me champions and
our Follow the Leader superstars!" [Wait for applause]
"And let's give it up for SET 2 — our Maritime Charades sailors and our Logo-
Guessing geniuses!" [Wait for applause]
"And most importantly — let's give yourselves a round of applause, because YOU
showed up, YOU participated, and YOU made this one of the most fun orientation
activities we've had!" [Wait for big applause]
"Freshmen, this is just the beginning. University life is going to throw a LOT at you
— deadlines, group projects, 8 AM classes that feel like they start at 3 AM — but if
today taught us anything, it's that you already know how to have fun, work together,
and laugh through the chaos. That's basically the entire college survival guide right
there."
[Wait for laughs]
"So enjoy the rest of ORSEM! Talk to the person next to you, make a new friend,
and get ready — because we've got MORE exciting activities coming up next!"
[Raise mic, big energy] "Give yourselves ONE. LAST. ROUND. OF. APPLAUSE!"
[Wait for final applause]
"Thank you, ORSEM Batch 2026 — let's keep this energy going for the rest of the
program!"
GENERAL EMCEE NOTES
- Pacing: Keep transitions tight — don't let dead air build between rounds, especially
during Bring Me and Maritime Charades.
- Crowd control: Have marshals/mentors positioned near each group to help manage
movement during Bring Me (retrieving items) and to relay winners quickly to the emcee.
- Backup plan: If a round runs long (e.g., no group has the item for "Bring Me... a
watch"), have a quick joke ready ("Looks like nobody's on time today — literally!") and
move to the next round.
- Mic management: Always have a backup mic on standby; with 500 students, sound
clarity is critical for instructions to land.
- Timing flexibility: If running short on time, trim rounds from Bring Me or Guess the
Logo first, since both are designed with extra rounds built in — Follow the Leader and
Maritime Charades are tighter and harder to shorten without losing structure.
