Executing Process Group
The processes in Executing Process Group deal with the completion of the
work defined in the Project Management Plan which is completed and
approved by the stakeholders at the end of the project planning phase. It
involves coordinating resources like people, equipment and resources to
get the work done efficiently and effectively so that the project keeps
delivering the promised objective.
The most important output here is the Deliverable, which is produced in
line with the defined Project Management Plan.
This process is where most of the work is carried out, and where products
and deliverables are built, assembled, constructed, and created.
Executing Process Group
Behind every successful project is a great team and a good team is a
direct result of a good environment which is based on trust and
competencies and capabilities rather than anything else. The team
has to be acquired, managed and cultivated for performance.

The Executing process group utilizes the most project time and
resources, and as a result, costs are usually highest during the
Executing process.

or by the steering committee.

In short, the Executing process involves coordinating people and

project in accordance with the project plan. The main outputs the project
deliverables and producing these will be the responsibility of the project
team who will be working to the project plan.
Executing Process Group
At this point, you’re ready to build the product or service that
you’ve planned for. This phase, therefore, tends to be the longest of
the project. It’s where you devote most of your energy and
resources as you keep the project on track against various project
constraints.
The execution phase is deeply connected to the next phase of the
project, monitoring and controlling. The project manager is tasked
with tracking performance and progress to ensure the actual effort
is aligned with the planned effort.

To properly allocate project resources, assess
resource needs and prioritize resource
requirements. Then strategically allocate resources
as needed and monitor and adjust those resources
as needed throughout the project.
Balance the Team’s Workload
Once assignments have been made, do a workload

tasks or underutilized. Ideally, a project manager
wants to balance the team’s workload so that tasks
are evenly distributed across all team members.
