I. Project Title
SPEAK UP: A Seminar on Youth Involvement in Peace Development
“Imparting coping mechanism to the youth on academic stress, and violence among the
community”

II. Goals and Objective of the Project


A. Goals
In pursuit of the vision to strengthen and build the peace advocacy in Mindanao State
University, the project aims to reach out to the youth in order for them to express their thoughts
and share their knowledge about their knowledge on peace in their religion. It also aims to
extend help to the said participants through various activities and build future peacemakers in
our society. Most importantly, to promote the importance of peace and understand, accept and
create a diverse community where every religion are welcome.

B. Objectives:
• To promote the presence and the role of the young people as positive actors of changes
in peace – building processes.
• To strengthen the role of young people in identifying and speaking up against human
rights violations, including discrimination, hate speech and those human right violations
affecting especially young people and children.

III. Rationale and the description of the project


A. Rationale
The fundamental for this project aims to give young people the tools they need to be
more successful in their efforts in advance democracy, development and peace in their
communities and within their inner self because peace start within the inner self. The ideal
society one that is democratic and peaceful, where young people actively contribute to fostering
a culture of peace and advancement.
Peace among the youth or high positive peace in societies have better outcomes on a
range of factors that are considered important, such as better environmental performance,
reduce religion conflict, less civil resistance movements or violent political shocks but could
also end Redo or family feud. These are one of the factors that we can see or considered if we
strengthen peace advocacy among the youth.
We speak for peace in order to have a better life and understanding of every religion in
the world and to the people who suffered from war and discrimination are given the attention
they needed. Peace advocacy ensures the creation of peace – building and the end of violent
conflict in our society. Thus, the project proposal will be entitled “Youth Involvement in Peace
Development” which intended to be held in Amphitheater.

B. Description
The project will consist of a 5 days – event, the first 3 days will be focus primarily on the
preparation of materials, distribution of the paper, inviting and finalizing of the activity plan. On
the fourth day, will be composed of lecture seminar from the guest lecturer on understanding
the benefits of peace advocacy and introduce coping strategies for the youth/ students on
violence in the community, not having peace of mind and other issues, which will be discussed
by the invited proficient speakers.
On the fifth day of event, activities or workshop will be done through parlor games and
other fun activities related to our concept in seminar. The event will also allow the student to
express their feelings and thoughts through writing in the provided freedom wall where they can
freely express their opinions on the said seminar and to share their experiences as well.

IV. Program Implementation Plan


a. Coordinate with the Dean of CPA college and other professor/staff who authorized for the
implementation of the seminar program.
b. Identify the target student beneficiaries in Mindanao State University – Main Campus.
c. Preparation for the venue and other material needed for the seminar.
d. Collaboration and sending invitation to the lecturer of peace dialogue.
e. Finalizing the program activity plan and the venue where it will be held.
f. Provide distribution schedule
g. Coordinate with the guest lecturer and the other.

V. Target (starting date of implementation and the date to finish)


The program will start on November 2022 and will end on November 2022. The timeline for
monitoring after the implementation will be forwarded to the core group. Thus, it will be perform
and observe prior to the said schedule.

1. Implementer:

to discuss more on mechanics.

The budget for this program are inconstant and might change depends on what the fund
needed. The budget that will use in this will be converted into Philippine money (pesos).
