1. Network Architecture
Network Architecture is the design and structure of a computer network. It defines how
devices, software, and communication protocols work together. The two main types are
Client-Server Architecture and Peer-to-Peer Architecture. A good network architecture
improves communication, security, and performance.
2. Different Network Terminologies
Node: Any device connected to a network.
Server: A computer that provides services and resources to other computers.
Client: A computer that requests services from a server.
IP Address: A unique address used to identify a device on a network.
Router: A device that forwards data between networks.
Switch: A device that connects multiple devices within a network.
Bandwidth: The maximum amount of data that can be transferred in a given time.
Protocol: A set of rules used for communication between devices.
LAN: Local Area Network covering a small area.
WAN: Wide Area Network covering a large geographical area.
3. Difference between MAN and WAN
Basis MAN WAN
Full Form Metropolitan Area Network Wide Area Network
Coverage City or metropolitan area Country or worldwide
Speed Higher Generally lower than MAN
Cost Moderate Higher
Example City-wide cable network Internet
