1.1 Introduction of textile
Clothing, food, house, and transportation are four
essential needs for human life. In the history of
textile industry, very significant progress in
production efficiency has been observed by several
innovative inventions in textile equipment. We 发明
设备
would not enjoy life with plentiful clothing without
such innovations. The total market value of textile
equipment in the world is about 25 billion US dollar.
Q: What is TEXTILE?
1.1 Introduction of textile
The term textile is derived from the Latin textilis
and the French texere, meaning “to weave,” and it
originally referred only to woven fabrics. It has,
however, come to include fabrics produced by other
纱线、绳索
methods. Thus, threads, ropes, braids, embroidery, 编织物
刺绣品
nets, and fabrics made by weaving, knitting,
网类制品
bonding, felting, or tufting are textiles. Some 簇绒
definitions of the term textile would also include
those products obtained by the papermaking 造纸工艺
principle that have many of the properties
associated with conventional fabrics.
1.2 History of textile manufacturing
Before the 1760s, textile production was a cottage 家庭手工业
植物纤维
industry using mainly plant fibers. A typical
weaving family would own one hand loom, which 手工织布机
would be operated by the man with help of a boy;
the wife, girls and other women could make
sufficient yarn for that loom. The knowledge of
textile production had existed for centuries.
1.2 History of textile manufacturing
Throughout the 19th century a succession of 一系列
improvements in textile machinery steadily increased 稳定地
the volume of production, lowering prices of finished
cloth and garments. The trend continued in the 20th 服装
century, with emphasis on fully automatic or nearly
fully automatic systems of machinery.

1.3 Modern textile
Both industrialized and developing countries now 工业化的
have modern installations capable of highly efficient 设备
fabric production. In addition to mechanical
improvements in yarn and fabric manufacture, there
have been rapid advances in development of new
fibers, processes to improve textile characteristics, and
testing methods allowing greater quality control.
1.3 Modern textile
The modern textile industry is still closely related to
the apparel industry, but production of fabrics for 服装
industrial use has gained in importance. The resulting
wide range of end uses demands a high degree of
specialization. In the most technically
advanced communities, the industry employs 行业,领域
technicians, engineers, and artists; and a high degree of 技术人员
consumer orientation leads to emphasis on marketing 设计师
operations. Some manufacturing operations, usually
serving specialized or local markets and dependent on 专业的
a limited number of firms for product consumption,
still employ many hand operations, however.
1.3 Modern textile
The many types of modern textile fabrics, produced
from both traditional and synthetic materials, are often 合成的
classified according to structure. Fabrics made by
interlacing include woven and knitted types, nets, and 交织的
braid; fabrics produced from fibre masses include 纤维集合体
bonded types, wool felt, and needle-woven types;
composite fabrics are produced by uniting layers of
various types.
1.3 Modern textile
Conventional weaving and knitting methods are
currently the major textile manufacturing techniques,
but newer construction methods are achieving 结构成型工
acceptance and may replace certain long-established 艺
products as costs of conventional textiles continue to 成熟定型的
rise and rapid technological advances continually
develop new materials.
1.3 Modern textile
1.3 Modern textile
Today, modern textile products can be applied into any
fields referring to aerospace, army, vehicle, medical,
transportation, sport, etc. Therefore, the textile
products are not only the apparel but the fiber products
that composed of: thin films of polymers; fibers, yarns,
or fabrics; products made of films, fibers, yarns or
fabrics.
1.4 Development of textile industry
Material innovation
Nanofiber
Nanofibers are fibers with diameters in the nanometer 纳米
range. Nanofibers can be generated from different
polymers and hence have different physical 聚合物
properties and application potentials. Nanofibers have 组织工程
many possible technological and commercial 药物输送
applications. They can be used in tissue engineering, 癌症诊断
锂空气电池
drug delivery, cancer diagnosis, lithium-air
光学传感器
battery, optical sensors and air filtration.

Smart textiles 智能纺织品
"Smart textiles" are fabrics that have been
developed with new technologies that provide
added value to the wearer.
Electronic textiles or e-textiles (often confounded 电子纺织品
with smart textiles) are fabrics that enable
digital components such as a battery and a light
(including small computers), and electronics to be
embedded in them. 植入
1.4 Development of textile industry
Material innovation
Smart textiles can be broken into two different
categories: aesthetic and performance enhancing. 美学的
Aesthetic examples include fabrics that light up and
fabrics that can change colour. Some of these fabrics
gather energy from the environment by harnessing 收集能量
vibrations, sound or heat, reacting to these inputs.
The colour changing and lighting scheme can also
work by embedding the fabric with electronics that
can power it.
1.4 Development of textile industry
Material innovation
Performance enhancing smart textiles are intended for
use in athletic, extreme sports and military applications.
These include fabrics designed to regulate body 调节
temperature, reduce wind resistance, and control muscle
vibration all of which may improve athletic
performance. Other fabrics have been developed for
protective clothing, to guard against extreme
危害
environmental hazards, such as radiation and the effects
辐射
of space travel.
1.4 Development of textile industry
Material innovation
Future applications for smart textiles may be developed
for sports, and medical devices for patient monitoring.
Technical textiles, fashion and entertainment will also
be significant applications.

1.4 Development of textile industry
Structure innovation
3D fabrics
The uses and potential uses of 3D fabrics cover a wide
range of products from small medical devices to large
engineering structures. For example, there is one large
consumer market: the production of garments knitted in
one piece. This offers scope to designers and reduces
labour costs in sewing. For technical textiles, most of 缝纫
the interest has been in specialist markets, where the
performance demands are severe.
1.4 Development of textile industry
Structure innovation
Many of these applications are relatively small volume,
though a major replacement of conventional composites
by 3D fabric composites in aircraft would be a
substantial market and the spread of composites from
racing cars to the domestic market would be even larger.
There are also the long-established fabrics with a small
number of layers, notably those used in various forms of 尤其
filtration. If it could be opened up, there is a large
potential market in the construction industry.

1.4 Development of textile industry
Technology innovation
Electrospinning is the most commonly used method 电纺
to generate nanofibers because of the straightforward 简单的
setup, the ability to mass-produce continuous
nanofibers from various polymers, and the capability
to generate ultrathin fibers with controllable 超细的
diameters, compositions, and orientations. This 成分
flexibility allows for controlling the shape and
arrangement of the fibers so that different structures
(i.e. hollow and flat shaped) can be fabricated 中空的
