INVESTIGATORY PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS
Dear Students,
As part of your holiday homework, you are required to prepare a Physics
Investigatory Project File. Please follow the instructions carefully:
📘 Project File Guidelines
File Format
o The project must be prepared in a spiral binding file.
o It can be either handwritten or typed.
Page Requirement
o The project must contain a minimum of 20 pages.
o Only one side of the page should be used (single-side printing/writing)
Presentation
o Maintain neatness and proper formatting.
o Use colored diagrams, graphs, and illustrations wherever required.
o Highlight important headings and subheadings.
Project Structure
Your file must include the following sections:
2. Title Page (Cover Page)
3. Certificate
4. Acknowledgement
5. Table of Contents (Index)
6. Introduction (Overview of the topic and its real-life relevance)
7. Objective of the Study
8. Methodology (How the study/investigation is carried out – experimental, theoretical,
survey-based, etc.)
9. Materials / Resources Used : (Apparatus, tools, references, software, etc.)
10. Theoretical Background : (Concepts, laws, formulas related to the topic)
11. Investigation / Analysis : (Core part – explanation, study, graphs, observations,
comparisons)
12. Analysis and Interpretation
13. Findings / Results
14. Conclusion
15. Applications / Real-Life Use
16. Bibliography / References
Project Topics (Choose Any One as per allocation rule)
1.
To study various factors on which the internal resistance/EMF of a cell depends.
2.
To study the variation in current in a circuit containing an LDR due to:
(a) Power of the lamp
(b) Distance of the lamp
3. To find refractive indices of water and oil using a plane mirror and convex lens.
4. To investigate the relation between voltage ratio and number of turns in a
transformer.
5. To study angle of deviation vs angle of incidence using a hollow prism with
different liquids.
6. To estimate charge using Coulomb’s law with pith balls.
7. To study factors affecting self-inductance of a coil.
8. To study Earth’s magnetic field using a compass needle and tangent
galvanometer.
9. Moving coil galvanometer and its conversion into ammeter and voltmeter.
10. Study of special purpose diodes: LED, Zener diode, Solar cell,
Photodiode.
2. Important Instructions
o The project must be original and well-explained.
o Avoid copying directly from the internet.
o Diagrams must be properly labeled.
o Submit the project on time (date will be announced).
PROJECT ALLOCATION (ROLL NO. 1 TO 35…..)
Each student must 11 → Project 1 25 → Project 5
prepare the project 12 → Project 2 26 → Project 6
assigned according to 13 → Project 3 27 → Project 7
their roll number: 14 → Project 4 28 → Project 8
15 → Project 5 29 → Project 9
1 → Project 1 16 → Project 6 30 → Project 10
2 → Project 2 17 → Project 7
3 → Project 3 18 → Project 8 31 → Project 1
4 → Project 4 19 → Project 9 32 → Project 2
5 → Project 5 20 → Project 10 33 → Project 3
6 → Project 6 34 → Project 4
7 → Project 7 21 → Project 1 35 → Project 5
8 → Project 8 22 → Project 2
9 → Project 9 23 → Project 3
10 → Project 10 24 → Project 4
Note:
This pattern continues in the same way for further roll numbers. Students must strictly follow
their assigned project only.
This project carries academic importance. Marks will be awarded based on presentation,
understanding, and originality.

Abstract
The purpose of this project report is to understand a Capacitor and its uses. We will try to
understand how the capacitor first started and how over the years they developed into new
versions. We will go in deep about how a capacitor is constructed and understand the various
types commonly used and their specifications. We will also understand its fundamentals and
how it is charged and discharged. Hopefully, by the end of the report, we would be able to
understand capacitors

Acknowledgments
For this project, I would like to thank my teacher ………………. to help me understand this
topic and always help me with any problem I ever faced in physics and also to make the topic
interesting for me. I feel extremely grateful for him and his efforts to help me understand and
enjoy physics.
