In a story, a c haracter’s personality can be described using adjectives. The adjectives


may represent how the c haracter thinks, feels, or acts. Look at the following examples.
a. The mouse-deer was a clever animal.
b. The beggar was honest.

SIMPLE PAST TENSE

A positive sentence is a sentence that states something. It does not contain negative
words like ‘not’. In simple past tense, a positive sentence uses Verb 2. Look at the
examples.

b. Crow flew down to the ground and stuck the feathers into his wings and tail.

SIMPLE PAST TENSE

A negative sentence is a sentence that tells that an action did not happen or someone
did have something. A negative sentence usually has a negative word. Look at the
examples.
a. The crow did not like his feathers.

b. The tiger would never give up on his prey.

There was once a countryman who possessed the most wonderful goose you can imagine, for
every day when he visited the nest, the goose had laid a beautiful, glittering, golden egg.
The countryman took the eggs to market and soon began to get rich. But it was not long
before he grew impatient with the goose because she gave him only a single golden egg a
day. He was not getting rich fast enough.
Then one day, after he had finished counting his money, the idea came to him that he could
get all the golden eggs at once by killing the goose and cutting it open. But when the deed
was done, not a single golden egg did he find, and his precious goose was dead.
