SCRIPT WEEK 4
SESSION 1:
Group into 4
- Learners arrange the steps for scientific investigation for 3 minutes. Then they will answer this
guide questions
- “How did you come up with your answer?”
- Later on, we will see if your answers are correct on our discussions.
Than you for your cooperation, so here is the correct sequence of the scientific investigations.
o Observation
o Question
o Hypothesis
o Experiment
o Data Collection
o Conclusion
o Communication
Simple Scientific Investigation
Does Water Temperature Affect How Fast Sugar Dissolves?
1. Observation
When we make coffee or juice, sugar seems to dissolve faster in hot water than in cold water.
2. Question
Does the temperature of water affect how fast sugar dissolves?
3. Hypothesis
If the temperature of the water increases, then the sugar will dissolve faster.
4. Experiment
Prepare three cups containing equal amounts of hot, warm, and cold water. Add one teaspoon of
sugar to each cup at the same time. Stir each cup the same number of times and use a stopwatch to
measure how long the sugar takes to dissolve.
5. Data Collection
Water Temperature Time to Dissolve (seconds)
Hot Water 10 s
Warm Water 18 s
Cold Water 35 s
(Sample data only.)
6. Conclusion
The sugar dissolved fastest in hot water. Therefore, the temperature of the water affects how quickly
sugar dissolves.
7. Communication
Present the results to the class by explaining the investigation and sharing the data table and
conclusion. Students may also write a short paragraph or create a simple poster summarizing their
findings.
Our topic for today is about SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION
- Are you familiar with the word investigation?
- How about scientific?
Scientific investigation-
There are 4 key components of scientific investigation
AIM/PROBLE,
Variables
Materials
Methods
RECITATION -PROBLEM SANDBOX
- Make a questions based on given observation and use this sentence to complete your answer
