Course This course will introduce software project management, presenting basic to advanced level techniques and
Description approaches, aiming to understand principles of software project management, have a good knowledge of
responsibilities of project manager, be familiar with the different methods and techniques used for project
management and be able to apply the knowledge in an effective manner
In the first half, you will be introduced to develop concepts that are seen as central to the effective management of
software projects. You will develop an appreciation of key, project management concepts, techniques and will apply
them across a range of software project management scenarios. You will also get familiar with the different activities
involved in Software Project Management: Waterfall / Hybrid – Process Groups & Knowledge Areas by PMI
In the second half, you will underpin philosophy and principles of Agile Approach for Software Project Management:
-The lifecycle of an Agile project including alternative configurations and the products produced during an Agile
project
-The purpose, the techniques used, their benefits and limitations
-The roles and responsibilities within an Agile project
-How the Agile Project Management process can enable planning, management and control for predictable Agile
project deliveries
-How to manage and scale Scrum projects
Course The main goal is the acquisition of knowledge and practical experience in the field of software project management
Objectives using traditional as well as modern agile methods. Students will practice modern agile methods used to automate
the management of software development
The primary objectives of the course are to help students:

2. Principles of the triple constraint theory-to double triangle theory
3. To know five phases of project management, developed by the Project Management Institute
(PMI)
4. Create key Software Project Management Plan (SPMP) documents (Statement of Work,
Project Charter, Work Breakdown Structure, Gantt Chart and more). Use of PM tools.
5. To know: Principles and methodology for agile project management; Components of management
models in agile project management; Possibilities and methods of work with software tools using
the agile project management.
6. To be able to: Apply agile methods for the success of all kind of project.
