Reflection on our NSTP cleaning activity

During our community work immersion, my groupmates and I conducted a barangay clean-up
activity to help improve the cleanliness of the community and promote environmental awareness.
As we observed the area, we noticed that the community is composed of people from different
backgrounds and livelihoods. Many residents rely on small businesses, labor work, and other
everyday jobs to support their families. The barangay also has social and religious services that
provide support and guidance to the residents.

What struck me most about the community was that although many people benefit from a clean
environment, only a few participate in maintaining it. During the activity, it was only my
groupmates and I who cleaned the area, which made me realize how important individual
responsibility and initiative are in keeping a community clean and organized. Despite this, the
community can still be proud of its potential to improve and the resources available within the
barangay.

One common problem the community faces is improper waste disposal and lack of participation
in maintaining cleanliness. There were areas with scattered garbage that could affect both the
environment and the health of the residents. This issue showed me that community cleanliness
requires cooperation and discipline from everyone.

Through this immersion, I realized that even small efforts can make a difference. Although only
our group participated in the clean-up, we were still able to contribute positively to the
community. I learned the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and volunteerism. This
experience encouraged me to become more aware of environmental issues and inspired me to
continue helping in community activities whenever possible.
