Incident Log #001: SAISA West Logistics
Issue: Lack of Transparency
Status: Unresolved.
Wednesday started off full of excitement and anticipation for the SAISA Tournament
originally planned to take place Thursday (16th Apr). Yet, the atmosphere changed entirely
when students learned the news that SAISA was postponed to next week; Students who were
ready to challenge, represent their school on the field now left disappointed and confused.
This lack of foresight may have resulted in a breakdown of student morale and a loss of
institutional trust.
Thursday, Students had accepted the news, after all it was outside their control. Towards the
end of the day the announcement was shared: “We are proud to announce that KAS will be
hosting SAISA West next week April 23-25!” Despite the celebratory tone of the
announcement, the student body was left with more questions than answers.
There was no explanation provided regarding the situation. What bothers me is not that the
location was changed, it didn't affect me but what did was the lack of transparency. If there
were any uncertainties regarding the Tournament they should have been relayed to the
Students. Candor is not a sign of weakness, rather strength in leadership, it allows for
openness and strengthens bonds between students and faculty.

● The Results: The administration has officially called our extended lunch
trial a success.
● The Future: Head of School Mr. McCarl is now using our data to design
the 2026/27 school year schedule.
● Next Steps: We are now looking into how we can bring these same benefits
to the High School schedule.
