Systems Analysis and Design II

The course aims at providing a wide range of tools for information system design, including
object-oriented design principles, database design and architecture design.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module, the student will be capable of:

• understanding object-oriented design, database design and architecture design;


• designing operations and assigning responsibilities to classes and components;
• modelling and designing classes for object-oriented computer based systems;
• devising strategies for solving specific design problems, including design patterns;
• applying several development frameworks;
• designing user interfaces in object-oriented systems;
• designing and managing data in object-oriented information systems;
• understanding and designing architectures in information systems;
